For my 269th entry I'll be performing an acapella to the song Sorry by Justin Bieber . Sorry: A response to the theme of the week "The last time" is a part of Justin's 2015 album titled purpose. The song is an apology to someone for all the pain caused and seeking for one last chance at forgiveness. Bring a teenager when I first heard of this song, I didn't care much about the lyrics as I was solely carried away by the melody of song but being an adult I completely understand what it is all about, It is song about a flawed person admitting his flaws and searching for forgiveness.

Happy new month friends and family of Hive, welcome again to afritunes a place where everything afro thrives. This is the 169th of the community and for my entry I'll be presenting a cover song by Cupid SZN titled belle
Anybody who knows can testify how invested I am in Cupid and for some reason this particular song has weird hold on me that I always seem to come back to it even after discovering something. The artist is a bring time lover boy and I guess that is why I became an instant fan the moment I crossed paths with his work.
Belle is a very catchy song with simple lyrics that employs the combination of pidgin and Igbo language to produce a beauty. I hope it aligns with y'all as much as it did me.

**Greetings everyone, I feel extremely joyed to be back on this prestigious platform. I remain my humble self @coderaikiri and this is hive open mic week 269. My entry for the week will be an Acapella version to one of Sam Smith's songs titled Pray.
The song is a response to the theme of the week which is my choice and the lyrics is a full testament of what choices can lead one to. I fell in love with this song at one of the lowest point in my life where I doubted everything and wondered what the point of existence was. I struggled with religion, fought against my faith and became a shell of who I was. But despite everything, I never stopped praying even when I lost hope I still uttered words of prayers. I did not know who I was praying to but I prayed regardless. Just like he said "everyone prays in the end".

Welcome to another week of vibes Web3 Music Competition. I remain my humble self @coderaikiri and for the 35th edition my entry in this great community will be a song cover from Nsync titled this I promise you.
I am very great to @lordbutterfly and others for making this community and the competition a success, keep doing this great work and great things will continue to find you.
This I promise you was the first song I ever heard from Nsync as a little band and it was by complete accident. I was already used to the likes of Westlife and backstreet boys and I thought they were Westlife until I looked close enough discovered that they weren't. Nsync are a boy band that mainly used the blues genre to sing love songs and this I promise you so happens to be one. It is a song of assurance one that displays genuine affection to a significant other.
Although the boys disbanded years ago I still vibe to a whole lot of their songs as it is not only melodies but their catchy lyrics are to be trifled with either.

The theme of the week is fragrances and because I don't think there is any smell that has been projected to match the match the perfection that oozes from a rose flower, I believe this song aligns with this week's theme. > Hello my fellow hivers, welcome to another edition of musical expression here on Afritunes I remain my humble self@coderaikiri and for the 167th week here in this great community, My entry will have to be a song from none other than fireboy titled feel.
Feel is one of the most alluring songs that was part of Fireboys debut album Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps which dropped on the 29th of November 2019. The song explores the combination of Afrobeats, life and RnB filled melodies and understandable lyrics. Thinking back I was not really a fan of the song or the artist generally until February the next year when a neighbor in school told me to give the entire album a try, a decision I am grateful for till this very day. Feel became my favourite song in general as it resonated with the type lovely dovey things I am attracted to.
It kicks of with a simple but captivating entry "look into my eyes when am singing to you" that still gets to me till this very day. The artists expresses his overwhelming emotion for his lover and ultimately the song just revolves around him wanting her to feel the deep and genuine love he possess for her.

In response to the theme of the week- my gift to my mother, I decided to go with this song as it can still be twerked to match the energy from motherly love. I know the theme came about as a result of mother's day but my soul just resonated with this very song and I decided to go with the flow.
I lay my love on you was released in 2000 the beginning of an era by the famous boy band known as Westlife who focus on the Blues genre. The song is centered on expressing deep tenderness and warmth which if one looks deep enough is the exact thing a mother does for her offsprings. Hello my fellow hivers, welcome to another edition of musical expression here on afritunes. As you know I am @coderaikiri and for the 166th week here on afritunes I'll presenting a song cover from Ruger titled rub minds.
Rub minds is a song part of Ruger's second album titled blown boy Ru which was released on the 28th of March 2025. After hating on the entire album for months, I decided to give it a try once when I realized I had nothing new to listen to on my playlist only to discover I was sleeping in a gold mind, the entire album was banger different but highly underrated. Rub mind is a manifestation of Ruger's ability to blend Afrobeat and Dancehall to create pure genius, I still get over this song's to launch into full on weirdo mode when it comes on. Songs like this makes me extremely grateful to be alive
The lyrics of the song starts off as a heartfelt affirmation of his bad behavior of ghosting her, trying to forget her because he is scared of commitment probably because of past trauma but with her it is extremely difficult. He promises to abstain from such a terrible attitude, tells her not to ignore him because of ego. This time he is asking her about her location so that they can both link up or in this case Rub Minds and stay connected.

Hello everyone welcome to the 34th week of vibes Web3 Music Competition. As you all know my name is @coderaikiri, the guy with the moves and for entry I'll be presenting a song from the Senegalese American artiste titled locked up.
Locked up is a reflection of the artiste's true life experience in the prison system. He talks about what it feels to lose one's freedom and all the privileges attached to it. He starts it up by narrating that leads up to his arrest, being at fault for everything, he admits to the crime of selling illegal substances which was the very cost of his predicament. He also highlights the fact that the reason he was caught was because of his friends that were working with the securities indirectly expressing that we should be weary of who we call friends as they possess the information needed to cause us harm and not hesitate to use it against us.
In the end Akon talks about his family, how much he misses and how they pray he does the right thing so that he remains his freedom after serving time behind bars.
Locked up which was released on the 5th of April is not just your average hit with sweet melodies to make it unique, it is also the story of a man's life

Admite haber cometido el crimen de vender sustancias ilegales, lo cual fue la causa principal de su situación.
