This is week 2 discussing Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy. This week we are talking chapters 7-12. This episode sees some more typical high school drama with Mia, and we see Rose get a little too physical with a moroi prince that leads to an awkward encounter with Dimitri. Lissa gets closer to Christian despite Rose's warnings, and someone goes a little too far to threaten Lissa with some animals. Rose double downs on her training sessions and she learns a bit more about Dimitri and develops some feelings. We also see the toll her situation takes on Lissa - and she gets hurt.

This is our last episode discussing Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas, it follows chapters 43 to the end. We see Celaena get saved from the Ridderak demon’s poison, she has a moment of truth with Nehemia where Celaena gets a new name. Chaol doubts the king's report, Celanea trusts Nox with her identity and he trusts her enough to leave the castle while he still can. Dorian is really falling for Celaena, they make out a little but we don't really know how Celaena feels. We finally see the epic duels for the title of King's Champion. However, Celaena is betrayed and poisoned - how can she overcome the poison in her battle against the other contestant? With some help from some of her allies, Celaena tries to pull through, but will she succeed? This is an epic ending to the first book in a very long series. We also announce our August book of the month!

In this week's episode we're discussing chapters 32-42 of Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas. This week we see more dead champions, some cute puppies and Celaena starts to become suspicious of a good friend. Nehemia experiences a tragedy while Celaena continues to be attracted to both Dorian and Chaol. Celaena gets blessed by a god after she and Chaol take a nap in the church. We question how she is expected to be a champion if no one trusts her enough to go to a party. There's a Yulemas ball, Celaena and Dorian take their relationship to another level, while Chaol looks on, yearning to be the one to make Celaena happy. Chaol seems to be unable to talk to woman and deal with feminine issues and Kaltain and the Duke come up with a dangerous plan. We also confront a mysterious and dangerous beast and Celaena gets hurt! Will she be alright? Who knows!!! 

This is week 3 of Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas and we're discussing chapters 23-31! This week we see how Celaena and crew celebrate Samhuin, she finds a secret passageway in her room! and she gets a visit from a legendary ghost with a cryptic message during a dream and almost gets attacked by something she can't see. Celaena also gets a warning about wyrdmarks from a friend who she begins to suspect as not being entirely truthful. There are more murders, more challenges, and more developing feelings between our main triangle! We finish the episode with a special challenge about poisons. Does Celaena conquer this challenge or does she accidentally take a deadly poison??

This is our first look at Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas! We dive into our main character Celaena Sardothian’s life as the most successful assassin in the country of Adarlan - she unfortunately was caught and sent to the prison camp salt mine of Endovier - but she has a chance at redemption when the Crown Prince Dorian, along with his BFF Captain of the Royal Guard Chaol Westfall, come to her with a proposition. A contest to become the King’s Champion AKA personal assassin. If she wins, she can earn her freedom, if she loses, it's certain death! We go along for the ride as Celaena enters the competition and spends her first few nights in the castle, getting to know both Dorian and Chaol. We also meet the creepy King, the dastardly Duke Perrington and the loathsome Lady Kaltain. Celaena is in for a wild ride, that's for sure and so are we!

Just a heads up, especially when we talk about representation in the series we do name some of the characters that are LGTBQ+ and this could be a SPOILER.

This is our last episode discussing Bitten by Kelley Armstrong. This week we chat Chapter 24 (Settling) to the very end! We see some aco-taco interactions between Elena, Clay and Phillip, some sweet moments between Elena and Clay, and some creepy moments with Daniel and Thomas LeBlanc. We get a harrowing run, a gallant in distress and a tough choice for Elena (but is it really a choice?). We also get a risky plan by Elena that Jeremy does not agree with, and an interesting reaction from Karl Marsten. It's the end of the book so who will Elena choose? Will she go back to Phillip? Will Philip even take her back? Or will she choose to stay with Clay and the rest of the Pack?

This is our third week talking all things Bitten by Kelley Armstrong! This week we discuss chapters 15 (Stalking) - 23 (Descent). This weeks episode is action packed as we get a werewolf chase scene, a werewolf torture scene, and a werewolf murder scene. We learn all about the best way to dump werewolf bodies, and we finally meet some of the key masterminds trying to take the pack down. Everyone forgets they own a cellphone, Clay gets detained for questioning and Elena makes a mortal enemy. Elena and Clay get even closer (wink wink) we also see Elena come face to face with her mortality. We end off the episode with Jeremy's "brilliant" plan, sending Elena and Clay back to Phillip - together. What's going to happen when Phillip the boyfriend and Clay the lover finally meet?
