That’s the thing about crypto, if you sell it, you have to do KYC. The government does not want you participating in what could be a money laundering scheme. Oyster PRL Exit scam

Finally, for Can’t Handle That Scandal. Bruno Blocks, a pseudonym for the creator of Oyster PRL, used a trap door to generate extra coins. Bruno dumped $300,000 dollars worth of coins on Kucoin which tanked the price of Oyster by 65%. Which is why I say stay away from low liquidity coins guys.

The Luxembourg-based exchange Bitstamp has been acquired by a private equity firm in Brussels for a rumored $400 million dollars. Not a bad investment considering the founder started the company with one thousand euros.

Earlier this week, Spanish-software company shEOS announced a protocol that will quote unquote teleport you ethereum tokens on to the EOS blockchain. More NOT REALLY NEWS NEWS, there are two articles going around that should be approached with caution. The first is about a lower court in Shenzhen classifying Bitcoin as property. These type of reports create bullish sentiment, because it makes it seem like China is all in, but that’s not the case. There’s no common law in China. Precedent, especially from a lower court, does not matter. Coinbase is in hot water again. This time it takes heat for listing Zero x. Fudsters made claims that Bitfinex is wash trading. It seems folks have discovered a curious coinmarketcap API feed. The feed showed volume for a non-existent market in Bitfinex. Bitfinex says calm down folks. The data relates to deposits and withdrawals and is not a market at all.

Bulletproof forks

Earlier this week we reported that Monero was getting ready to hard fork. The Beryllium Bullet implementation will allow Monero to have greater resistance against ASICs. This release also includes a feature called bulletproofs. The Bulletproofs feature will allow better privacy by hiding the number coins in each transaction.

Trump Tariffs Hurt US Crypto Mining

Last June, the Trump Administration reclassified Bitmain’s Antminer S9 from a tariff-free data processing machine to an electrical machinery apparatus. The change makes it subject to a 2.6% tax. This is already on top of the 25% tax charged on all Chinese products across the board. Be happy you didn’t buy into the Bitmain IPO.

EU ICO Investment

On the other side of the pond, ICO investment in the EU has surpassed $4b billion dollars. This is compared to a $2.6 billion dollars collected in the US. Don’t let that surprise you too much however. Our analysts at Coinfeed tell me that by normalizing those numbers, EU residents have spent $8.07 per person whereas Americans have spent $7.87. So pretty comparable.
