Is Hamels one of the greatest Phillies ever? Absolutely. The old-school stats say so, but so do the new ones. Hamels ranks 11th all-time in WAR by a Phillies player, according to Baseball Reference, just behind Jimmy Rollins and Bobby Abreu, and just ahead of Chuck Klein and Curt Schilling.
Hamels shared his favorite Phillies memories with Ruben, Jim and Todd before his June 21, 2024, retirement ceremony at Citizens Bank Park.
