Comedy Slab

This week - Silicon Valley Series 2 Episode 1.

Partially inspired by co-creator Mike Judge's experiences as a Silicon Valley engineer in the 1980s, this comedy series follows the misadventures of introverted computer programmer Richard and his brainy friends as they attempt to strike it rich in a high-tech gold rush. They live together in a Bay Area startup incubator loosely run by self-satisfied dot-com millionaire Erlich Bachman, who lets them stay in his house rent-free in exchange for a stake in the projects they invent there. But when Richard develops a powerful search algorithm at his day job, he finds himself caught in the middle of a bidding war between his boss, whose firm offers Richard an eight-figure buyout and a deep-pocketed venture capitalist.

This week we chat about Colin Hoult's Carnival Of Monsters Season 2 Episode 4.

Writers' Guild Award winner and master character comedian Colin Hoult invites you to a truly original tragi-comic character show that will shock, tickle and appal.
Playing with environment, atmosphere and storytelling, the Carnival is an experience unlike any other you’ll find on radio.
Enter the Carnival of Monsters, a bizarre world of sketches, stories and characters, presented by the sinister Ringmaster and meet such monstrous yet strangely familiar oddities as Anna Mann - outrageous star of such forgotten silver screen hits such as Rogue Baker, Who's For Turkish Delight and A Bowl For My Bottom and Andy Parker - wannabe Hollywood screenwriter.

Some episodes of The Carnival Of Monsters are currently available on the BBC iPlayer and the Anna Mann podcast is available here: https://audioboom.com/channel/i-am-anna-mann
