  • #84.0 - Reign of X (Part 1)

THE HOX POX DOX has returneth !!

Being big Jonathan Hickman fans (still), when he was entrusted to take over the new direction for X-Men, we were jacked(initially).

That had us follow the first run of X-Men: Dawn of X, House of X, Powers of X and the eventus they built up to X of Swords. However, X of Swords broke us into taking a 2-year hiatus from this comic series. But we're back to b!tch again with our favourite mutant league teams in Reign of X!

In this episode, we take a look at the (Marvel Guide) 8 titles

    Excalibur #16-20,
    X-Factor #5-8
    X-Men #16
    Cable #7-8
    Hellions #7-11
    Marauders #16-17
    X-Force #15-19
    Wolverine #8-12

So without giving away spoilers in the description, Coke, Dank and *dolphin sounds* dare you to take a leap of faith and walk through Krakoan gateway for REIGN of X (part I)

  • Sex Warrior [Arc Analysis #69]

Hey there. Yes, you, reading this description.

Have you ever been curious about what a world war would look like if it was based on old people who live forever vs the younger generation who are living under the old geezer's thumbs? Oh, you have huh? Well what if I told you to add no less than two types of super soldiers into the mix and a woman from the future who has special powers that become stronger when she has sex?
Ya, I didn't think so. That's what this book is about, and somehow it's only two issues.

  • The Rocketeer [Bottle Cap Review]

This one is a throoowback. Watching this as a kid is a little different than watching it as an adult.

As a kid, I saw a dude flying around in a super cool costume and bad guys a plenty trying to shoot him down and that was fun.
As an adult, this one is very reminiscent of Iron Man (2008) but with the mob, old school planes, the mob, nazis and a dude flying around in a super cool costume.

  • Bitch Planet Vol 1: Extraordinary Machine [Arc Analysis #68]

The concept of this book is incredibly unique and it has a way of grabbing our interest on that alone. 'Bitch Planet' is the nickname given to a prison planet that was built to house disobedient females, away from Earth, which was controlled entirely by rich males in power.

This story is about what goes down on that prison planet and some of the prisoners on it.

  • #83 - Genndy Tartakovsky’s ‘PRIMAL’

Do you know who Genndy Tartakovsky is? You better. The man has had his hand in many projects you probably loved, but this time, with this series 'Primal', he's outdone himself.

What do you get when a T-Rex and a caveman form a bond over shared trauma? Well.. we don't use the word masterpiece loosely, but this series could be in the conversation. OR we could be lying to you and we absolutely hated this show. I guess you'll have to hit play to find out for sure but keep in mind: we spoil the heck out of it.

  • First Glance: Crypt of Shadows #1 (2023)

WE DID A COMIC BOOK FOR FIRST GLANCE AGAIN!

A little over the top but we were probably excited. Now that that's out of the way, let's take a look at Crypt of Shadows #1, Marvel's comic book version of Treehouse of Horrors.
We get stories centered around Scarlet Witch, Hulk, Deadpool, and Daredevil, with a bunch of other characters and cameos. Of course the themes and faces we see get us to start talking about other properties and what could come in the future.

  • The Toxic Avenger (1984) [Bottle Cap Review]

We're gonna be honest with you here... This is a movie. A movie from 1984. A movie from 1984 where a guy is transformed by barrels of toxic waste into some hulking monster who can sense evildoers and proceeds to break, beat or melt them with his bare hands. He also wears a tutu.

If you like cheesy 80's action, flare and forced comedy, then boy oh boy do we have a movie for you!

  • #82 - The Maxx

    The Maxx.

What more can be said about this property. If you are not familiar with this comic (or cartoon) and you consider yourself a big comic guy (or gal), that title for you is debatable. Sam Kieth created something so unique, so interesting, so special here that you need to check this out. Not should; need.
Is it a superhero comic? Is it a trip? Is it confusing and charming and disgustingly beautiful? Yes to all of those things.
Read this book. Watch the show. They have different endings so it doesn't matter in which order you do that in, but once you're done both? Listen to this episode.

  • Sink Vol 1: Welcome to Glasgow [Arc Analysis #67]

Yup Coke and Dank waited for the Friday the 13th to give you guys our next comic Arc Analysis. And oh boy it stays with you... Welcome to the town of Sinkhill. This is a town that even the bravest of superheroes would take a second before driving through. Luckily no heroes are needed for this grounded, brutal, wild and maniac mad mad world. Less is more for this 2018 John Lees gem! So Buckle up and avoid that blue van as we review Sink!
