  • #87.1 - X-Men '97 [Epi 5-7]

The next 3 episodes have come and gone; we even gave you all an extra few days to marinate in them.... Before getting the objectively best opinions right here on this very show. Tune out the rest of the noise and just stick with us as we navigate the middle 3 episodes that bring us our first look at Genosha, a space opera and a trip to New Mexico, as the sentinels come full circle. And there's a whole lot of melodrama and memorable moments - and nitpicks - to go along with!

To me, my New Meatz and Sawft Cheezes.

  • Fire & Ice [Bottle Cap Review]

In 1983, Ralph Baksi's Fire and Ice dropped and it tells the story of an evil queen and her son, set on conquering the entire world shortly after the ice age.

Against them, stands one man (and help, so clearly not 'just' one man) from a destroyed village who takes it back to the evil frozen empire in this rotoscope styled film.
A little over 40 years later, how does this bad boy stand up to the test of time - and was Teegra's body all natural?? Those are the big questions here.

  • #87.0 - X-Men '97 [Epi 1-4]

    Okay so..

We were going to wait to do an episode on the entire series, but let's be real here: we love talking about X-Men (if the last 4 or 5 episodes weren't evidence enough of that). In the spirit of being the mutant FREAKS we are, here are the first 4 episodes of the new X-Men 97 series (that due to technical issues, is a week late #sorrynotsorry). We talk about the character arcs thus far, dive into each individual episode and what we like - and don't like - about the early goings of the series. Buckle up, bub.

  • Immortal Hulk Vol 2: The Green Door [Arc Analysis #76]

Our first look took a while, so our second look continues on the mean green path to salvation or more likely destruction. but, of who?  Immortal Hulk is one of those titles that keeps giving to Hulk fans are in for a ride! Writers: Al Ewing, Joey Bennett and Artists: Ruy Josè, Paul Mounts show what a maniac Bruce can be when pushed to deal with his internal struggles and angry issues.

Coke and Dank are back to take down the immovable Mean-Joe-Green of the gamma persuasion, as we giggle with glee with cameos from across the Marvel Comic Universe and talk all the good, bad and SMASH! that Hulk and his counterpart Bruce Banner get into.

Spoilers: they continue to f*ck up everywhere they go immediately, its great!

  • #86 - X-Men TAS: One Big Saturday Morning

    PREVIOUSLY, ON X-MEN...

We had to. You know that we had to. Anyways, X-Men 97 premiered yesterday, but instead of covering the first two episodes of that series, we decided to revisit its origins: X-Men The Animated Series from the 90s.

What we didn't do is cover every single episode of all 5 seasons, but instead, we picked 17 episodes (a few from each season), to talk about and discuss. Are they our favourite episodes and arcs? Not necessarily, but they are all very memorable ones, and cover a lot of the popular points of interest the series had.

Please keep in mind that we have already covered the following arcs in older episodes:

    • The Phoenix Saga
  • The Dark Phoenix Saga
  • Beyond Good and Evil

    • In this episode, we will be covering:

    • Night of the Sentinels (S01E01-E02)
  • Deadly Reunions (S01E04)
  • Til Death Do Us Part (S02E01-02)
  • Red Dawn (S02E04)
  • Repo Man (S02E05)
  • Obsession (S03E09)
  • Savage Land, Strange Heart (S03E12-13)
  • Sanctuary (S04E03-04)
  • One Man’s Worth (S04E09-10)
  • Weapon X, Lies & Video Tapes (S04E16)
  • The Fifth Horseman (S05E05)
  • Graduation Day (S05E10)

  • Ghost Machine #1 [Arc Analysis #75]

Image Comics is about to enter the shared universe... universe. And Ghost Machine is the introduction to the first few characters that will be taking part in this world.

Dive in and check out the issue for the several stories that are here: post apocalyptic radioactive anti-heroes, farmers with animal controlling helmets, and a red coat who can't seem to die are just a few examples of what is to come with the new Ghost Machine universe.

  • If You Die In The Woods, Does Anybody Care? [Arc Analysis #74]

No, seriously. Ask yourself: "If you die in the woods, does anybody care?"

This playfully dark book by Steve Steiner kinda explores this. Deep in the woods of Big Hole Park, people are going missing and it's up to the pair of rangers (and a lost infomercial host) to figure out who or what is murdering these hikers.. be it man OR beast.

It's either that or keep hiding the bodies themselves...

  • First Glance: Moon Man #1

Its a First Glance - of hip-hoppic-proportions that doesn't make sense, but leave it to Image Comics and superstar musician and now writer Scott "KID CUDI" Mescudi and Kyle Higgins with artist Marco Locati to weave their story of a returning astronaut to earth and the mysteries he brings with him.

There are hits , there are misses but there is a lot to get into when it comes to the original Moon Man - Kid Cudi . Buckle in Sawftcheezes as we fall slowing into the Moon Man's world!

Check the link for a killer track and maybe the better way for an artist of his level to launch a comic, #justsayin'

Is there a soundtrack?, Nah its a FIRST GLANCE!
