  • #33 - Dawn of X

Last episode was us toxing about hox pox, this week we're toxing dox. That's right - the first issues of the Dawn of X age are upon us, and we go over them together just for you. And you. And you, and you, and YOU.

We take a look at X-Men #1, Marauders #1, Excalibur #1, New Mutants #1, X-Force #1 and Fallen Angels #1. We talk about the teams in each book, a few theories we have, and share what we like or didn't like about each of the new issues, as well as expose what other books are to come in early 2020.

P.S. There are 5 more Sinister Secrets to decipher

    Today, we tox hox pox

Being big Jonathan Hickman fans, when he was entrusted to take over the new direction for X-Men, we were jacked. In this episode, we take a look at the (combined) 12 issues of House of X and Powers of X, try to decipher some Sinister Secrets and share our overall thoughts about the story and new, uncanny status quo.

  • #31 - 30 Days of Night [Arc Analysis #5]

    Boo.

    Scary, right? Welp, we tried.

And that is what today's episode is all about. The 31st episode on the 31st day of October, or as some dweebs call it: All Hallow's Eve. The devil is out in full force, and in celebration in that evil, we have a festive episode where we break down IDW's mega hit from over a decade ago: 30 Days of Night.
Come kick it with the Weapons as we take this 3-issue comic through another chapter of our Arc Analysis series - breaking down the story from start to finish, the art, the writing, what we liked, what we didn't like, and you get the picture.

    Boo. Very boo (Not boo-urns)

  • #30 - Doom Patrol & Umbrella Academy [Across the Pages]

Across the Pages (AxP) is our series where we take two similar-ish characters/teams/concepts from different creators or publishers and give their various forms of media a well-deserved spotlight.

This time, we've got a couple uncanny teams to talk about: Doom Patrol and the Umbrella Academy. One of them a group of super-powered "siblings" collected from all over the world at birth, the other a group of misfits and mishaps. We give our thoughts on both first seasons of the shows for each property, as well as an arc from each comic book history: Doom Patrol's Crawling from the Wreckage and Umbrella Academy's Apocalypse Suite.

  • #29 - Shadowland [Arc Analysis #4]

Continuing on our Arc Analysis series with a mini crossover event from 2010: Shadowland. Daredevil is in control of The Hand, and has Hell's Kitchen on a lockdown of ninja-enforced protection. It's up to a combination of Marvel Knights to bring him down.

We summarize and spoil the 5 main entries of this story, dig into the characters, their motivations and even the artwork - issue by issue - to let you know all about the world. We hope you enjoy this episode of Arc Analysis... Or die trying.

  • Spider-Man TAS: The Mutant Agenda [Bottle Cap Review]

Spider-Man the Animated Series from the mid-90's is always going to hold a special place in our hearts because we grew up with it. The perfect spider-man personality and we can't help but compare other versions of the character to this one.

The Mutant Agenda and Mutant's Revenge are episodes 4 and 5 in of the second season, and in this bottle cap, we go in on them. It's an epic crossover event of X-Men being pulled into Spider-Man's hometown of Queens. How could this not be a perfect review, right? We go in. Enjoy!

  • #28 - Ren Hoek & Stimpson J. Cat

    Happy Happy Joy Joy!

Here at Comic Patrol, as long as it has a comic book adaptation, we talk about it. Guess what? Ren & Stimpy DO have a comic series... We just don't talk about it at all in this episode (p.s. No sir... we don't like it). What we do talk about here includes the background of the trailblazing, animated series, the best episodes it did put out, and our favourite episodes of the show (amongst other things).

    Joyyyyyyy

  • Preview of #27 - Spider-Man's Rogues Gallery

During a mic check, we ended up getting sidetracked and started discussing the rogues gallery before we were even ready to record it. A little behind the scenes with The Weapons, if you will.

  • Spider-Man TAS: The Insidious Six [Bottle Cap Review]

Spider-Man the Animated Series from the mid-90's is always going to hold a special place in our hearts because we grew up with it. The perfect spider-man personality and we can't help but compare other versions of the character to this one.

The first 2 episodes of the second season, we are introduced to the Insidious Six (Sinister wasn't allowed to be used on a kid's show - so says censorship). Add in the fact that Spider-Man is experiencing bouts of losing his powers, he has to take on a group of his rogues at once. This is our bottle cap review of this 2 episode arc.
