Comic Patrol Pod

Continuing on our Arc Analysis series with a new book today - unlike our usual banter about this and that, this episode focuses intently on the first story arc (issues #1 - 4) of Valiant's 2013 Quantum & Woody.

We summarize and spoil the story, dig into the characters, their motivations and even the artwork - issue by issue - to let you know all about the world. We hope you enjoy this episode of Arc Analysis.

Hero Draft - Our very own comic based fantasy league! With 32 character names plucked 2 by 2 from an actual, real-life hat (one by each co-host), we pit them against each other in battle, games, sports and contests each week in an elimination tournament format. (theme by Komiku)

Hero Draft Season 1: Marvel Heroes, Round 2

Across the Pages (AxP) is our series where we take two similar-ish characters from different creators/publishers and give their various forms of media a well-deserved spotlight.

This week, our focus us a HELL of a ride, as we set our sights on Spawn and Hellboy, their odd similarities, their early days, their movies and a comic run for each of them.

Hero Draft Season 1: Marvel Heroes, Round 2

If you grew up in the 90's, you probably watched The X-Men Animated Series. If you never did, the eff is wrong with you?

The Dark Phoenix Saga was a 4 episode stretch that was pulled from the comic books arc which lasted MUCH longer... Take a dive with the Weapons to see if it was or is worth a couple of cold ones.

Villains range from cool to badass to cheesy. But these guys? This lot we touch on in this episode are downright out of left field.

And it's great. And you've never heard of them.. Probably. A follow up to our episode 15 about odd heroes, this is all about their odd AF counterparts: the baddies. Sit back, grab a drink and try to enjoy. Things are about to get weird.

poweR wreckingS - Humans love to rank stuff. What kinda stuff? Everything.

Keep 6ix - 6ix, 6ix, 6ix! It's all about hidden gems. Sometimes comic-related, sometimes not; we give you a heads up on some of our favourite comics/games/shows/toys/etc in this short 'check em out' segment.

Soooooo Phase 4 rolled out at SDCC a few weeks ago, and we have yet to talk about it. This week, that is exactly what we're doing: predicting and planning on what we hope to see for each and every announcement made at SDCC, and where the MCU will be headed.

Two thirds of the Holy Trinity are on the run from the government, and President Luthor won't be pleased until the bounty on their heads has been completed. Batman and Superman have to fight their way through waves of DC characters on their way to Lex, the source of their headaches this time around. That, and a "pregnant" meteor.

The animated flick to start them all (I think we can all look past Superman: Doomsday), this is The New Frontier! Stylized, kind of weird and a lot of personality, this is the first animated Justice League movie to be pushed out, starting off a stream of others to follow. We pop the caps and give a little review to how we feel about this flick, it's pros and cons - join along.

The superhero of superheroes. The one, the only: Superman... is dead.

That's right, this episode we're going through the different portrayals of how Supes bit the dust. Promised to you back during our 3 part DC Animated Movies discussions, here it is: the comic event of the 90's. It was a huge deal back then, and no other event since has quite captured the energy (or rage) that this one did.

Included in this episode, we talk about the comic event The Death of Superman, as well as the animated films Superman: Doomsday, The Death of Superman and The Rise of the Supermen.
