This week Mike delves into the Journals Of Old Ben Kenobi comics, which includes him standing up to Jabba’s thugs, saving Luke (& Owen Lars), dealing with life as a hermit, fighting Black Krrsantan (before he met Aphra), as well as info about the Mos Eisley cantina and further connections!
Jason Aaron was the writer for all 4 stories, found across the first 37 of the main Star Wars comics and in the From The Journals Of Obi-Wan Kenobi collection, to be released November 2020.
Other Obi-Wan related episodes of the show are; 11 for Obi-Wan & Anakin mini-series, 28 for the Master & Apprentice book and last week’s episode, 31. In which Mike tackled two more issues from the Age Of Republic series; Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi! The first comic, about Qui-Gon, shows him struggling to find balance, so he goes on a journey for an answer only the Force can provide, while in Obi-Wan’s comic he finds it difficult to have faith in his new role as master to his new padawan, Anakin.
Mike also appeared on the second episode of Comics On Trial, defending The Phantom Menace against Scott of 20th Century Geek, with Paul of Superheroes For Dummies as the judge, also found on this feed (20th September): https://spoti.fi/2FTjvZI

2004 was the first time we saw Hellboy grace the big screen with this Dark Horse character. Guillermo Del Toro was the Director and brought his own distinctive flavor to this movie as a strong follow up to leading Blade II.

This week features the next two issues in the Age Of Republic series; Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi!
The first comic, about Qui-Gon, shows him struggling to find balance, so he goes on a journey for an answer only the Force can provide, while Obi-Wan finds it difficult to have faith in his new role as master to his new padawan, Anakin as they embark on a new mission together.
Both Age Of Republic comics were written by Jody Houser with Cory Smith as penciller, Walden Wong as inker, Java Tartaglia as colourist and Wilton Santos was also a penciller on the Obi-Wan comic.
Episode 28, where Mike delves into the Master & Apprentice book, goes along well with this episode as it provides more insight into Qui-Gon & Obi-Wan’s relationship, so be sure to check that out too!
Last week, in episode 30, Mike brings in Tony Farina of Indie Comics Spotlight for our first discussion episode, tackling Kieron Gillen’s Darth Vader comics, the character of Doctor Aphra, her droid companions Triple Zero & BT-1, how Mike & Tony each got into Star Wars comics, Aphra potentially having a series or movie and much more!

Each episode will see members of the Comics In Motion family take up on opposite sides of a geek battle!
In the dock this week is the 1984 movie, Ghostbusters. Chris accuses this movie of being a huge disappointment and Peter Venkman in particular.
A film he loved as a kid with a lot of great history but on re-watch he hated his hero Peter Venkaman (Bill Murray). He believes it ruins the film having a sexual 'deviant as a lead character and it hasn't aged well. In the defences corner is the great Scott Weatherly from 20th Century Geek .
Scott is one of the biggest Ghostbusters fan ever. He goes for Chris after his accusations against Venkman and the movie.
Our judge trying to keep these two in check is the wonderful Dan Belgrave from great podcast - Superheroes for Dummies. He does a fine job on todays show.
