There's the Comfort Zone and then there's the Discomfort Zone.
As an athlete, I know about the Discomfort Zone all too well…
It's because every time I get into it, it SUCKS, but there's always exponential growth at the end of it.
But why is it when it comes to our dreams and careers and families, most people are afraid to get into the Discomfort Zone?...
That place where our goals and dreams are so big that only God can fill the gaps?
Are you OK when life is good, but there's no growth?
In today's episode of Coming Up Clutch™️, I summarize the Top 3 nuggets from Monday's interview with entrepreneur and Brand Builders Group personal brand expert, Casey Dowdell...
We talk about what keeps most people stuck in the Comfort Zone and what prevents you (and your family) from enjoying the fulfillment you deserve.

How often do you compare yourself to others?
The data shows that 10% percent of your thoughts involve comparisons of some kind.
Are your comparisons helping you or hurting you?
Yes, comparisons could help…but only in certain situations.
I dig deeper on this on today's episode of the Coming Up Clutch with J.R.™ show.
If you want to make sure you're staying away from the comparisons that hurt you and your goals, then make sure to lock in to today's Drill.
LET'S GET IT!
[00:01 - 12:14] Opening Segment
[12:15 - 19:11] What's The Drill?
STEP 1: Ask yourself, "What does God think about me?" but go one step further…REMIND yourself constantly what God says about you (e.g. Bible reading and Scripture memorization).
STEP 2: Leverage the science and create some healthy competition in your life to trigger some motivation for you…find that person next to you in the same race.
STEP 3: Get a mentor, Accountability Partner, or Coach
STEP 4: Practice DAILY GRATITUDE. Make it a point to practice focusing DAILY on how far you've come in life rather than how far you haven't been able to go.
BONUS STEP: Create an intentional social media consumption strategy.

Because you're a man.
Men aren't supposed to get emotional, right?
The guilt…
The shame…
The embarrassment…
ALL results of fighting an undefeated opponent.

On a scale from 1 to 10, how much do you believe in your goals? (1 = no belief at all; 10 = you believe in them with every bone in your body).
What's the point of having goals if you don't believe in them? You're better off having no goals at all.
In today's 5-Minute Drill, we're going to wrap up our 4-part series on goal-setting. So, when you're finished with this Drill, you'll be locked and loaded when it comes to your 2023 Goals.
And not just any Goals…
Goals you BELIEVE IN and are ready to accomplish for a bigger purpose.

How often do you let your emotions drive your behavior?
I'm half Italian - and if you haven't heard, us Italians get emotional.

Which type of person are you…
#1 - Wants to win and will do whatever it takes to win?
OR…
#2 - Wants to win and hopes things will work out in your favor?
I'm guessing you're #1, right?
I hear a lot of "I'll do whatever it takes, J.R." from people, but when it comes to the mental and emotional work required for winning consistently, they slack off.
The reality is, our thoughts affect our emotions…
Our emotions affect our body, and…
Our body is what drives our performance and behaviors.
They're links in the same chain. If one link is broken, the whole chain is.
I unpack this further on today's episode of the Coming Up Clutch with J.R.™ show with human performance expert, sports psychologist, and author, Dr. Amber Selking.
In this latest episode, Amber and I talk about…
…and so much more.
If you want to be better positioned to win more often, then don't miss today's episode.

Are you giving your future a chance?
In today's 5-Minute Drill, I hit Part 3 of our 4-part series on goal-setting. It's all about your vision.
While many make the vision process overwhelming and complex, we're going to make it simple for you…
Because your focus and future require simplicity.
If you want a crystal clear vision that sets you up for sustainable success, then make sure to lock in to today's Drill.
LET'S GET IT!
[00:01 - 05:56] Opening Segment
[05:57 - 12:45] What's The Drill?
STEP 1: Plan to unplug for 5 Minutes
STEP 2: Center and ground yourself
STEP 3: With your BHAG in mind and considering all the areas of your life (e.g. career, family, finances, health, etc.), imagine yourself 3 years from now. See the date on your calendar. Here are some example questions you can ask yourself:
TIP: Audio record yourself and your answers while you're in the visualization.
STEP 4: Narrow down your vision to a maximum of 10-20 bullets
STEP 5: Pick someone in your Inner Circle to read your vision back to you. You'll close your eyes and confirm each bullet point while that person you selected reads your vision out loud.
