A crisis does not change who we are. It reveals it. Endurance under hardship is the mark of a Christian. As people of the cross, Christians are able to weather any storm the good Lord’s sovereign hand permits trusting that He works all things together for the good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
It’s been said, “Don’t waste a crisis.” Living according to the Kingdom of God can transform this crisis of health and economics into a moment of grace. Jesus, when encouraging people not to worry about how they will survive says, “…seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” We can bring God’s kingdom to Earth by walking in the footsteps of Jesus. This means submission to God and sacrifice for our neighbor.

Is the abortion industry in America on life-support? According to a recent industry analysis the category of Family Planning and Abortion Clinics is thriving. Yet their primary source of income is from the underserved population via tax-payer funded Medicaid. Politicians increasing required health care and health insurance coverage for ‘Family Planning Services’ is one of the primary drivers of the increased revenues. Another major source of revenue into the abortion industry is billionaire philanthropists, as men like Bill Gates and Warren Buffett dump millions of dollars into both national abortion measures. One article states, “If you could snap your fingers and rid the world of billionaire philanthropists instantly…only the rich would have access to [abortion].”
Is it right to permit the rich and politically powerful to co-opt the will of the electorate?

The most recent Gallup poll measured the nation’s opinion of abortion by party affiliation. 29% of Democrats self-identify as pro-life. To show how serious their beliefs are regarding abortion, polling analysis reveals 20% of Democratic voters will only vote for a pro-life candidate. This is one reason offered by Kristen Day of Democrats for Life as to why pro-abortion campaigns are losing altitude needing the fuel of a handful of major donors like Warren Buffet to remain airborne.
Furthermore, Day points out that the Democratic Party platform as represented by 2020 Presidential candidates Pete Buttigieg and Elizabeth Warren refuse to even recognize pro-lifers in the Democrat camp.
Isn’t the Democratic Party’s blind devotion to abortion, which alienates one in five members of their voter base, precisely the kind of behavior defined as extremism?

Recently the nation’s largest abortion business, Planned Parenthood, vowed $45 million in 2020 election campaign financing. Their goal is to defeat Donald Trump fearing the 1973 Supreme Court ruling legalizing abortion is in danger of being overturned. Since Planned Parenthood’s longtime CEO and political activist Cecile Richards resigned amidst allegations of criminal activity the organization seems to be having a crisis of identity. Is it a political organization or a health care one? Richard’s replacement as CEO was Physician Leana Wen. She claimed the board quickly fired her because she refused to emphasize politics over women’s health. Now millions of dollars are being poured into campaign financing to influence the outcome of political races.
It seems like Planned Parenthood resolved their identity crisis. How many women could Planned Parenthood serve with $45 million anyway?

On January 24, Donald Trump became the first President in 47 years to address the hundreds of thousands who pilgrimage to the annual March for Life. During his remarks President Trump said, “Every child is a precious and sacred gift from God.” He went on to say, “When we see the image of a baby in the womb, we glimpse the majesty of God’s creation.”
Trump’s remarks met with vigorous applause because the pro-life position holds that because every human is made in the image of God each are equally valuable…deserving of equal protection under the law. Pro-lifers understand that if government is permitted to narrow the definition of a human excluding certain categories of people, like preborn babies, then those groups of people become the targets of legalized oppression or destruction, like abortion.

Abortion in the U.S. is down 19% since 2011. Pro-life people see the decline as success but demographer Dennis Howard from a Movement for a Better America warns that abortion itself may be partially to blame for the nation’s decline in abortion. It is called the abortion echo effect. Simply put Howard says, “The 63 million babies we aborted…are no longer around to have babies in this generation and that will ‘echo’ down through future generations….”
The abortion echo effect has had a disproportional impact on the black community hollowing out a full 40% of its entire population.
It has been said ‘Whoever saves one life saves the world entire.” In light of the abortion echo effect could the opposite be true too?

On Thursday February 6, a racially diverse coalition of pastors sounded the alarm that abortion is strangling the black community. Rev. William Gillison of Mt Olive Baptist Church said, “59 black babies are aborted for every 100 born in Buffalo…. The Black community is no longer replacing itself.” The coalition announced the launch of a televised awareness raising campaign targeting Buffalo’s minority population during Black History Month. The 30 second ad is hard-hitting demonstrating how abortion disproportionately impacts the black community, with black babies being 5X more likely to be aborted than white babies nationwide.
The ad insinuates that the racial disparity is by design quoting abortion giant Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger as saying, “There is no doubt that procreation of this group should be stopped.”

In May the Department of Health and Human Services issued a new rule protecting the conscience rights of medical providers who refuse to participate in abortion because of their beliefs. New York Attorney General Letitia James filed suit on behalf of Planned Parenthood and others to strike the conscience protections. U.S. District Judge Paul Engelmayer sided with the abortion activists.
Attorney Stephanie Taub says, “This decision leaves health care professionals across America vulnerable to being forced to [facilitate] procedures that violate their conscience."
Should doctors and nurse who believe all life is equally valuable be forced to participate in abortion? Is a state that forces people to behave in ways that violate their beliefs expressing separation of church and state, or is it expressing a secular religion where government is god?

A global baby bust is giving birth to crisis. For a nation to sustain itself its fertility rate must be 2.1 babies per woman. The U.S. fertility rate is 1.8, East Asia’s is 1.7, and Western Europe’s is 1.6. Fewer babies mean an aging population resulting in a demographic cliff.
As the population ages, the ability for society to bear children in numbers high enough to sustain a nation’s infrastructure sunsets with catastrophic effects cascade to the economy and medical system. The death spiral for Spain is very real; for every baby born three people die. China, known for its forced abortion tactics, reversed course and is now toying with requiring couples to have at least two children or be penalized with increased taxes.
So, why do governments like New York continue to promote abortion?

When the Supreme Court legalized abortion it manufactured language to describe fetal viability, the minimum gestational age for a child to be able to survive outside the womb. In 1973 that was 28 weeks. A follow up ruling, Planned Parenthood v Casey, said that a state has a compelling interest to restrict abortion after the point of fetal viability.
Due to advances in medicine, studies show the age infants can survive and thrive outside the womb has drifted lower over the years from 28 to 22 weeks. Yet the medical community and legislation have not caught up with this reality. Many infants born pre-mature do not receive the medical care needed because their case is considered “hopeless.” Furthermore, legislative efforts to protect preborn babies from abortion after ‘viability’ are outdated.
