There is an on-going criminal investigation of at least ten Planned Parenthood affiliates by the U.S. Justice Department for the illegal trafficking of aborted baby body parts. The investigation was sparked after undercover journalist David Daleiden released videos of Planned Parenthood officials negotiating those sales and describing the late-term abortion procedures for filling the body part orders.
After Daleiden was cleared of any wrongdoing, Planned Parenthood leveled a retaliatory lawsuit against him with a Judge who has known ties to Planned Parenthood. In a ruling on November 15 Judge Orrick ordered the journalists to pay Planned Parenthood $2.3 million in damages for his whistle blowing.
Daleiden’s attorney explains, “This case…tests the sacred tenet of freedom of the press…I am confident that we will win on appeal.”

After a twelve year battle against the people, Governor Cuomo and the political elite applauded the signing the Reproductive Health Act earlier this year. They insisted that New York expand abortion so that women will still have a place to get their abortions if the Supreme Court reverses the 1973 ruling legalizing it. New York is well-known to tourists for its cities, mountains, and waterfalls. Now politicians have added late-term abortion to the list.
Recently, abortion advocates have lamentedthat while New York opened the door for late-term abortions, not enough doctors are walking through it. The question that New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms asks seems warranted, “Why does the political left have such an insatiable appetite for late-term abortion?”

CompassCare believes all people are created in the image of God and are equally valuable. A woman considers abortion because she feels trapped, like abortion is her only choice. She says, “I need to have an abortion.” CompassCare’s mission is to erase the need for abortion in her mind by dignifying her with the ethical medical care and community support she deserves. Empowering her in this way gives her the ability to say no to abortion. New York is the abortion capital of the U.S. forcing pro-life employers and medical professionals to carry the toxic water of their inhumane beliefs. CompassCare stands with women through service and now against the unjust coercive power of government through a lawsuit. On November 8 New York Governor Cuomo signed a bill into law forcing Christian pro-life organizations to hire people who fundamentally disagree with their beliefs and mission. CompassCare is the lead plaintiff in a lawsuit contending that the law violates their first amendment rights.
CompassCare is a Christian organization that believes all people are made in the image of God and are therefore equally valuable without qualification from conception. CompassCare exists to empower women considering abortion to make the healthiest choice for everyone involved. This new law will block those efforts.
Imagine if Cuomo signed a bill requiring Italian restaurants to hire chefs who have no intention of cooking Italian food. Should a government be allowed to force a religious organization to hire someone who undermines their mission?

She found out she was pregnant. It wasn’t planned. She was engaged. He was building his trade. What would her family say? Would they be shunned by their community? On November 14 a lawsuit was filed: CompassCare vs Cuomo. CompassCare, a pro-life employer, contends that the law violates their freedom of religion by forcing them to disregard their beliefs by promoting abortion in its staffing practices.
CompassCare insists they are Christian first and foremost and have a right to set their own staffing policy. They argue that New York has no right to use the coercive power of government to impose their secular beliefs.
This law forces pro-life Christian groups to carry the ideological water of New York’s politically powerful. But, as Justice Kennedy rebuked California last year in favor of pro-life organizations, “…it is not forward thinking to force individuals to ‘be an instrument for fostering public adherence to an ideological point of view they find unacceptable.’”

In recent study published in the Lancet the authors conclude abortion does not cause suicide. Strangely, the authors found a 2.5X risk increase of unsuccessful suicide both before abortion and after abortion. Taken together that is a 5X increase in suicide risk. Yet their conclusion is that abortion is not correlated to suicide? Upon reviewing the study one scientist reportedly asks, “So even if you conclude that [abortion is not] responsible for the attempt, does it not indicate that those seeking abortions are at risk for suicide already, and should be referred for mental health counseling INSTEAD of getting an abortion?”
Even worse than the Lancet authors disputing their own research, they fail to address the existing body of medical research finding a three-fold increase in successful suicide after abortion compared to non-pregnant women.

CompassCare is suing New York State for violating its freedom of religion, speech, and association.
On January 22, 2019 the Legislature passed SB 660, aka the “Boss Bill.” SB 660 prevents CompassCare from employing people who believe and behave consistently with the religious beliefs and mission of the organization. SB 660 forces this violation of constitutional rights under threat of enforcement and crippling lawsuits.
SB 660 requires CompassCare—and other like religious and pro-life organizations—to promote and normalize, to its employees, abortion and standards of sexual conduct that run counter to its purpose, statements of faith, and principles.
Pro-life staff at CompassCare empower women considering abortion with comprehensive information and support, so they can make the healthiest decision. SB 660 reveals the true intent of New York State; to ensure a woman has no other choice but abortion.

Planned Parenthood is the world’s largest abortion business. In the U.S., the organization perpetrates over a third of all abortions. According to Planned Parenthood’s annual report, their yearly revenue is over $1.3 billion, nearly 40% of which is provided through taxpayer grants. And yet Planned Parenthood enjoys non-profit status, which generated $98.5 million in surplus funding from private and corporate donations in just one year.
Most charitable giving to non-profits occurs at the end of the year. Since the majority of people do not support abortion, many find it useful to do a little pre-holiday shopping research, ensuring their money is spent with businesses that fund causes they believe will build society, not tear it apart. For more information about which corporations financially support abortion and which ones do not, go to 2ndvote.com/PlannedParenthood
