Chapter 1 of Are You Pro-Life for the Right Reasons?
Remarks by Rev. Jim Harden Delivered at House Triangle on January 18, 2023.
Despite Many Adversaries, CompassCare serves first patients in NYC, the abortion capital of the Nation.
Christmas is the preamble to God’s Gospel
May our marveling in the salvation of our God’s presence, Immanuel, break out like Anna’s, in both gratitude and continuing to offer the glass of the water of salvation to women and babies otherwise led to the slaughter that is abortion. This Christmas, give a baby the gift of a birthday. The 2024 objective is to double the number of women and babies saved from abortion in the nation’s abortion capital. This requires $1.2M by year-end. Go to 2Ximpact.life to double your life-saving impact today.
Jesus performed no greater work than opening the dungeon door of eternal death, being spent to pay the price of the sin that imprisoned us. What then does it mean when He promised, “…he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father” (Jn. 14:12)? Perhaps He had in mind His followers’ self-sacrifice, leveraging their mustard seeds of faith in Him to move mountains of social injustice like abortion—one woman, one baby at a time (Mt. 17:20).
Our sin made us orphans, oppressed, strangers fending for ourselves in a spiritual wasteland. Through Christ’s sacrifice, we are being made whole—and all the more as we walk out His mission, a mission by which we are made beneficiaries… “to seek and to save that which was lost” (Lk. 19:10).

As the people of God through CompassCare continued delivering lifesaving services, together we continued expanding infrastructure to serve even more women, opening a third medical office in Albany and launching TeleCare to cut the time it takes for a woman to talk to a pro-life nurse from 24 hours to 24 seconds. Now, God is opening doors in New York City, enabling CompassCare to begin in-person service in the abortion capital of the world.
And as we expanded, together we also continued educating the nation on what it means to be human—forging a more pro-life culture—and protecting pro-life services, fending off further attacks from roaring pro-abortion lions. Even now attacks continue in the form of vilification of pro-life pregnancy centers, censorship, negative PR campaigns, and the abdication of duty by federal law enforcement to enforce the law when violent crimes are committed against us. In the face of all this, never once—even after the firebombing of June 7, 2022—did CompassCare stop serving women and saving babies because CompassCare is on mission from God and we have a plan.
CompassCare CEO, Rev. Jim Harden, explains the civil Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrance Act (FACE) complaint CompassCare filed against pro-abortion extremists. Since the pro-abortion prairie fire was sparked by the illegal leak of the Dobbs case overturning Roe, May 2, 2022 over 300 pro-life entities have been attacked. There has been only one conviction.
Despite assurances under oath to the Senate Judiciary Committee that the DOJ is enforcing the FACE Act equally for both abortionists and Pregnancy Resource Centers, America’s chief law enforcement officer, AG Merrick Garland, refuses to indict those who attack pro-life pregnancy centers while leveraging the power of federal law enforcement against peaceful, pro-life citizens.
The Chicago-based public interest law firm, Thomas More Society, is backing the case with local counsel, Ganguly Brothers, PLLC, representing CompassCare from Rochester, NY.
Rev. Jim Harden shares a message on what it means for persecuted Christians to turn the other cheek.

CompassCare CEO, Rev. Jim Harden, says that due to increased risk of violence to children and families, the organization needed to pivot its largest fundraiser, the Walk-for-Life, away from high-profile, high-risk parks. Harden says, “The violence by pro-abortion extremists demonstrates that now more than ever our nation needs to Walk for Life, everywhere.” CompassCare is supporting people to host their own protest proof walk for life in their neighborhood or church.”
