  • Pro-life Employers Appeal to U.S. 2nd Circuit After NY Judge Sides with State

Real Abortion News reported that on March 29 Judge McAvoy of the Northern U.S. District Court sided with a New York State labor law, making it illegal for pro-life employers to hire according to their pro-life beliefs and mission in CompassCare v Cuomo.

The ruling means that if pro-life organizations, including churches, do not comply with the pro-abortion labor law they could face fines, AG prosecution, and private lawsuits by prospective employees not hired because of their pro-abortion beliefs or actions. CompassCare and the other named plaintiffs in the lawsuit have filed a notice of appeal to the Federal 2ndCircuit.

Shouldn’t Christian organizations and churches be free to hire according to their religious convictions without fearing threats and retribution from secular government?

  • Pro-life Organizations Not Free to Hire According to Their Convictions

In 2019 New York made it illegal to require employees to uphold a Biblical ethic of sexual conduct opposing abortion. Further, any church or pro-life employer had to inform employees of their abortion rights in employee handbooks.

Judge McAvoy of the Northern U.S. District Court upheld the anti-Christian law in CompassCare v Cuomo. Then on March 29 the Judge ruled that New York would not force employers to notify employees of their abortion rights in an employee handbook.

Translation: Today in New York, if pro-life organizations like CompassCare or churches do not comply with the pro-abortion labor law they could face fines, AG prosecution, and private lawsuits by prospective employees not hired because of their pro-abortion beliefs or actions. Shouldn’t Christian organizations be free to hire according to their religious convictions, not the beliefs of the secular state?

  • 234 Abortion Terrorist Group Claims Responsibility for Firebombing

Early May 8, emergency services responded to a fire in Madison Wisconsin at the office of a pro-life advocacy group. Arsonists firebombed the office. Graffiti left by the arsonists on the side of the building reads, “If abortions aren’t safe then you aren’t either.” The abortion terrorist group “Jane’s Revenge” claims responsibility, demanding all pro-life pregnancy centers disband or they will repeat the attacks stating, “Wisconsin is the first flashpoint, but we are all over the US, and we will issue no further warning.” This comes amid fears that a pending Supreme Court ruling will reverse Roe v Wade. Abortion activists are now targeting CompassCare’s medical office in Buffalo. Police in the Buffalo and Rochester areas have issued special alerts.

Why, despite the threats and violence to peaceful pro-life groups, is Governor Hochul allocating thirty-five million dollars to protect abortionists?

  • Pro-life Churches in NY Raise Over Three Quarters of a Mil

New York is the abortion capital of the U.S. Yet, over 200 churches across New York raised an astounding three quarters of a million dollars at CompassCare’s annual Walk for Life on April 30th. CompassCare is a non-profit organization, providing ethical medical care and comprehensive community support, helping women considering abortion to have their preborn boys and girls. CompassCare CEO, Jim Harden states, “After serving thousands of women since 1980 it is CompassCare’s experience that not a sane woman alive actually wantsto have an abortion. She feels trapped, like she needs to have one.” Harden goes on to say that, “While New York may have the most liberal abortion laws in the world second only to North Korea, the laws do not matter if women are supported in such a way that empowers them to say ‘no’ to abortion.”

  • Historic Breach of Security at Supreme Court over Abortion

An historic breach of judicial ethics occurred at the Supreme Court Monday May 2ndover the anticipated abortion ruling, Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health. The case carries the potential of overturning the 1973 abortion ruling Roe v Wade. Georgetown Professor of Law Jonathan Turley referred to the leak as, “…one of the greatest breaches of security in the history of the Court.” The leaked SCOTUS ruling is significant because any justice can change their vote until the ruling is officially released. The law professor went on to say, “The only intent of such a leak is to trigger a response from outside of the Court.” Resulting public pressure could coerce a justice’s vote. The court currently appears to be split five to four in favor of sending the abortion issue back to the states to decide for themselves.

  • What Will Be History's Verdict of Abortion

What will be history’s verdict of abortion? Will history look back on America with pride, marveling at the multi-billion-dollar abortion industry applauding the resourcefulness, generosity, and support for women facing unplanned pregnancy?

When a woman considers abortion, it is because she feels coerced to do something she never imagined. A woman feels trapped prior to an abortion, sad during an abortion, and alone after an abortion. Despite the rhetoric of reproductive rights, abortion is at best the compassion of the cruel, feigning support of a woman in crisis, a mercenary support, beginning and ending with power or profit. A coerced decision is anything but a free exercise of rights.

Only when a woman is empowered to have her baby through comprehensive community support and ethical medical care is her choice truly free.

  • Church Making Massive Pro-life Investment in Capital Region

Not a sane woman alive ‘wants’ to have an abortion. A woman has an abortion not because she feels free. It is precisely the opposite. A woman has an abortion because she feels alone and trapped. She believes she ‘needs’ to have an abortion. The Church in New York through CompassCare empowers women with ethical medical care and comprehensive support, freeing women to say ‘no’ to abortion. The results? Rochester witnessed a nationally unprecedented abortion reduction of 50 percent and after three years in Buffalo CompassCare is reaching 40 percent of all women considering abortion. And now the Church through CompassCare seeks to build on the pro-life efforts in the Albany area. The Goal? Cut abortion in half over the next five years.

  • The Church-Human Equality-and Abortion

For the last 49 years, the Christian community has stood in harm’s way, stock still in the intersection of cultural traffic after government eliminated the stoplight of human equality by legalizing abortion. What is it about the Church’s belief that causes so many Christians to be willing to test the patience of their fellow citizens, asking them to slow down and consider that by accepting abortion we are driving the wrong way on the one-way road of human dignity?

Jesus’ supreme sacrifice for us on the cross demonstrates mankind’s supreme value. As God cared for us, the sin-afflicted and infinitely needy soul at the cross of Christ, He empowers—and expects—that we do the same for the afflicted and needy around us, a mother considering abortion and her preborn baby.

  • What Does Jesus Think of Abortion

What does Jesus think of abortion? Once, placing a little child in front of His disciples, He proceeds to connect how a person treats a child with how the heavenly Father will treat that person (Mt. 18:5-6), warning, “See that you do not despise one of these little ones…” (Mt. 18:10). And with the child still in front of them, Jesus says, “So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish” (Mt 18:14).

Christians know abortion is always wrong because: 1) All people are made in the image of God and are therefore equally valuable and 2) Jesus’ mandate for loving our neighbor in His parable of the Good Samaritan forbids favoritism. Christians are pro-life because Christ is pro-life.
