  • How To Enjoy A Fulfilling Sex Life As A Married Woman?
    Hey mama,
    She was 17.
    He was 18.
They have been together ever since.
Now she is 43 and he is 44 and they struggle with sex.
Well, not. That is not true. Let me paraphrase.
He wants to have more sex, but she doesn't have a desire or interest in it.
He wants her to be more playful, more explorative, more appreciative of his efforts.
He wants results (i.e. more sex).
He bought sex toys, lubes, massage oils, etc.
    His approach is mechanical.
When something is 'broken' it needs fixing.
    So let's fix it?
She follows his lead in sex because,
    "he knows better"
    "he is smart"
    "he is hardworking"
"he has a great work ethic and I admire that."
"he makes better decisions that me"
So why does it still not work?
Why is it still not 'fixed'?
Why does she still not want more sex?
    They love each other.
    They want to stay together.
But their marriage is wabbly because she had fallen into a pattern of giving her power away to him.
She wants to feel more connected to him and enjoy their time together.
    Here's the thing, though.
She needs it to be done her way.
    Not his way.
    Her way.
She wants more flow, ease, freedom, magnetism, satisfaction, and fulfillment in life and sex.
    She doesn't want to feel,
    obligated,
    coerced,
    forced,
    convinced into sex.
She wants to want it herself.
    I believe she can.
I refuse to believe that she is not a sexual being, or that she doesn't deserve to enjoy sex.
    All humans are sexual beings.
Enjoying a nourishing and fulfilling sex life is our birthright!
So how do we do this in a marriage?
How do we do this in a way that sustains both of us?
Today's podcast episode is all about the difference between co-dependency and inter-dependency in marriage and how to create the right dynamic for a joined and healthy sex life?
    Enjoy listening!!
    Much love & healing,
    xoxo,

  • Am I Depressed?
    Hey mama,
This week I got an email from a client and in it, she wrote:
'I get these spells of time and I question if I'm depressed.
    Seemingly everything is OK.
I have a husband and a daughter. I'm not majorly ill, barely a sinus issue, I have a good life, I have an anniversary and a birthday this week, we're going out tonight and away for the weekend, but nothing really brings me joy right now.
I don't have to feel happiness 24/7 but I should feel something and I just feel numb right now.'
Are you familiar with this feeling?
    I know I am.
More often than I would like I am flooded with low energy, feel very drained and tired.
I don't want to do anything - get ready, go out, be nice, smile or talk.
All the things that we have to do to 'show up' in our lives, right?
    So what should you do?
    How to shift this around?
This is what I cover in today's podcast episode (episode #110).

Hope this is helpful and if you resonated with my tips please share this episode with one mama in your life who needs to hear this right now.
It takes a village to raise a child AND a mama.
Do your part, show up for yourself and others.
Sending you much love and many blessings,
    XOXO,
    Dorit

  • How To Eat Healthy While Traveling? [ep-109]
    Hey mama,
As the days are getting warmer I know many of you are planning to get away with your families and eating healthier becomes a chore or something that is perceived as "hard".
I am here to tell you that it doesn't have to be like that.
Instead of focusing on "how to eat healthy while you're gone" focus on "how do you want to feel when you travel (for vacation, with or without kids or for business)".
This question helps you to reframe the entire process and get you out of overwhelm.
You know that eating healthy is simple - eat less move more.
Simple, but you and I know this is not easy.
When you set yourself up for success and plan ahead, then it becomes easy peasy.
Your job is to make this whole thing seem manageable and doable.
And honestly, it is not that big of a deal.
When you prioritize yourself, you learn to take actions that support who you want to become and how you want to feel, everything else is nonsense.
No matter where you are, at home or away, why would you want to feel anything less than your best?
Let that sink in for a moment.
Here's what we cover on today's episode:
What to look for and what to ask for when booking accommodation?
    What to pack with you?
What to pick up on arrival?
General guidelines for eating healthy while traveling
A few words about portion sizes
What to do with "feel bad" foods?

While I love to travel and discover authentic restaurants around the world, I also like to go back home feeling vibrant, energized, rested and preferably wearing the same jeans ;)
I hope this serves you and if it does please share it with one mama who you know needs this information. Ignorance is bliss but knowledge is power.
    Much love & healing,
    XOXO,
    Dorit

  • Hate Seeing Yourself In The Mirror? [ep-108]
    Hey mama,
    Meet Linda.
A 42-year-old wife and mama to two beautiful girls.
An executive at a thriving start-up company.
She has everything she ever wanted. According to her parents she 'won' at life.
So why does she feel like crap?
She is confused. She doesn't feel in control of her health. She doesn't feel like she knows what she's doing. She knows that she had neglected herself and her marriage. She has zero interest in sex (her husband is pissed off about it). She's afraid that she's screwing up her kids. She's burnt out. In other words, she is 'sucked dry'.
Linda also can't stand seeing herself in the mirror. She hates her body. She wishes to be thinner and feels betrayed by her body.
One thing Linda is sure of is that she is DONE.
Done suffering. Done struggling. Done feeling stuck. Done feeling like a victim. Done complaining and bitching about how bad she feels.
Linda is ready and willing to listen.
    Finally.
She had heard me say that today's women suffer because of two factors that drag women down. Until she learns to set herself free from both of those things she will continue to suffer.
Wanna know what are those factors? Tune into today's podcast episode.

  • 'Self-care' is not enough to fix how much moms are burnt out [ep-107]
    Hey mama,
Today on the show I talk about the one topic that is nagging at us, moms, like crazy. Constantly.
    Wanna guess what that is?
    Work-life balance.
Oh man. If I could get a dime for every time I've heard a mama complain about this I'd be rich by now.
On the one hand, we're bombarded with well-meaning advice about how to find balance as a mom.
On the other, you'll find experts, gurus, authors, creators, coaches, and others we look up to openly say that there is no such thing as balance. In other words, get used to living like a crazy person.
Hustle/chaos/insanity is a part of the deal. Embrace it.
    I. Don't. Agree.
Curious why not? Check out today's podcast episode.
It might change how you view balance, hustle, ambition, and achievement and how to thrive as a woman in the midst of it all.
Do you agree? Disagree? I wanna know what you think, find me over at Instagram @healthbeginswithmom.

  • Anxiety In Motherhood: How I Learned To Calm, Self-Sooth And Control My Fears [EP-106]
    Hey love,
    Have you ever asked yourself,
    "What is wrong with me?"
"Why can't I get my shit together?"
"Why am I always afraid and anxious that something really bad is going to happen?!"
"Why am I never calm? Why do I worry about stupid things?"
Here's the truth, anxiety in motherhood is a real thing.
There are so many reasons why we moms feel anxious, "am I doing this right? Mom guilt, comparing yourself to others, feeling like you are missing out, should you have another baby, can you love another baby the same way?" An so on and so forth...
It is clear that living in a constant state of high stress and anxiety is detrimental to your health and the health of your family, so today on the show I talk about how I manage anxiety in my own life and practical tips to hopefully help you feel calmer, self-soothe and have a greater sense of control over your life.
Remember that you are enough and you deserve to take care of yourself.
    Choose yourself first ALWAYS.

  • What Do You Wish For When You Blow Your Birthday Candles? [ep-105]
    Hey love,
Today I have a challenge for you.
I want you to give yourself permission to dive deeper into yourself.
I want you to ask yourself, "what do I wish for when I blow out my birthday candles?"
In other words, what do I REALLY want?
Here are some examples from my clients (and some of my own):
"I wish I could eat whatever I could and still feel and look great"
"I wish I had more spaciousness and peace of mind in my life"
"I wish I didn't have to work so hard to lose the weight"
    "I wish life was easier"
"I wish my husband desired me more"
"I want to have more fun"
"I wish I could dance again"
Now it's your turn. Go deep and don't hold back!
This is such an important piece when it comes to healing your relationship with your body, your health, your finances, your relationships with people, etc.
In order to truly heal yourself, you need to start with the truth and build up from there.
    Choose yourself first, ALWAYS.
Because (and you already know this) you cannot pour from an empty cup.
Sending you much love & healing,
    XOXO,
    Dorit

  • How Do You Mistreat Yourself? [ep-104]
    Hey love,
I hear from so many of you that you want to know more about me.
I love reading and whenever I pick up a new book the first thing I do is go straight to the acknowledgments portion because that's where I the 'real' person lives.
    So I get it.
Today on the podcast I share more about myself, my journey and my health mission.
    I talk about:
The various ways in which I see women mistreating themselves as women, wives, and mothers.
How my maternal lineage influenced me and why I didn't want my daughters to end up like them.
My motherhood journey and the healing I've experienced in that (still do).
My 'eat-pray-love' moment and what came out of that.
My mission as an embodiment coach for women.
My approach and how it looks like to work with me.
I hope you can find yourself in my story and know that you are not alone!
Whether you struggle with your relationships with people (parenting, marriage), your relationship with money (not clear what to do with your life/time, scarcity mindset, money wounds, etc), or with your relationship with your body and health, I want you to know that this can change.
All you need to do is decide.
    Say "yes" to yourself.
    Open your mind.
    Slow down and listen.
    Ask for help and wait.
    It will happen.
Your feminine energy doesn't travel in the speed of Google. It needs time to simmer and cook before it manifests.
    You got this!
If you're ready to say 'yes' to yourself (or willing to open your mind to it), head on over to my website and schedule a quick coffee chat with me.
I'm happy to hold space for you and help you create a plan of action in your way to change and heal from past conditioning and find the true you ;)

  • Transformed By Birth with Dr. Britta Bushnell [ep-103]
    Hey mama,
I have a question for you.
Have you ever stood in front of the mirror asking yourself "who am I?", after becoming a mom?
    I know I have.
Birth and becoming a mom had changed me 100%.
Truth be told, I don't recognize myself.
This process had challenged who I thought I was, who I am going to be and who I am in the present moment.
The process of birth was my journey of relinquishing control, learning to understand myself as a woman and the roles I play as a wife and mother, as well as trusting the process and allowing to be "mothered" by wisdom, femininity, fragility, and vulnerability.
The soul rupture I have experienced with birth has allowed me to step into my true and authentic self and be of service to the world in more ways I could have ever imagined!
    About my guest:
Dr. Britta Bushnell is an award-winning childbirth educator, celebrated speaker, author, mother, and specialist in teaching audiences revolutionary new approaches to childbirth, relationship, and parenting. Britta blends her two decades of experience guiding new families with her doctoral study in mythology and psychology, bringing a fresh approach to an age-old human experience. Using her skill as a teacher, writer, storyteller, and guide, Britta challenges hidden preconceptions to help clients and audiences cultivate new ways to approach life’s most important transitions.
Britta’s presentations at conferences such as DONA International, MANA, and ICEA, as well as her interviews on popular podcasts including Birthful, Informed Pregnancy, and Atomic Moms, have received rave reviews. In 2016 Britta was awarded; Educator of the Year" by the Southern California Doula Association (DASC). She is finishing her forthcoming book, Transformed by Birth: Cultivating Openness, Resilience, and Strength for the Life-Changing Journey from Pregnancy to Parenthood.
Today's podcast episode is a result of synchronicity and trusting the universe! I believe that this connection happened because I have been brewing and ruminating with thoughts related to my birthing experience and the lessons that affected who I am today for months. Not only is this a beautiful example of "ask and you shall receive" but this is also so timely since this episode is being launched on Mother's Day week!
Consider this my gift to mothers and their partners who have been transformed by their birth experience.
I hope you will enjoy listening to this conversation and learn from it as much as I have!
Sending you much love & healing,
    XOXO,
    Dorit

  • "What If My Husband Would Want Time Off Too? I Can't Handle The Kids All By Myself!" [ep-102]
    Hey mama,
Today on the show I am doing a follow up from last episode (ep-101) where I talked about how to sleep in with a clean conscious and without responsibilities for just one day.
So many of you resonated with this message and I'm so glad!
One message I've received really touched my heart, so I am responding to it today:
    Here's what one mama wrote:
"Thank you for the podcast! I understand you now! I will have to work on myself to get the guts to do something like that, or at the very least have a half day to myself. Confession, I know if I would do it, my husband will want to as well. Not sure I can handle the kids on my own for a full day and overnight. This is so shameful to admit, I can't believe I am telling you this."
Today's show is my response to her.
Enjoy listening and let me know if you have any questions related to this topic. If there's enough interest, I might do a series of Q&A.
Sending you much love & healing,
    xoxo,
    Dorit
