In this episode, I’m joined by Owen Unruh (He/Him/They/Them), a Two-Spirit Indigiqueer artist, model, & content creator who’s been openly sharing their addiction recovery journey online with such rawness, humor, & so much heart.
We talk about reclaiming lineage after disconnection, what it actually means to rebuild your life, & how joy, creativity, & artistic expression can be powerful forms of medicine. We get into identity as something layered & multidimensional, the gaps in healing & recovery spaces for Black, Brown, Indigenous, & queer folks, & why so many of us end up creating the spaces we needed but couldn’t find.
This was one of those conversations that moved gently between laughter & deep healing. Light, fun, & real, with space for the heavy stuff. If you’re in recovery, wanting to understand recovery & addiction, are reconnecting with your roots, or just curious about what healing can look like beyond society's expectations, dive in with us!
