  • Ex-Hindu Explains Why Christians Should Not Do Yoga
All yoga poses are Shiva worship and there's no such thing as "holy yoga" or "Christian yoga" reveals Sandeep, an ex-Hindu now Christian who was born and raised in India's high priestly Brahmin caste. Sandeep has studied the Hindu scriptures and practiced yoga since childhood. When Sandeep read the Bible, God revealed the truth of the gospel to Sandeep and he was saved. Sandeep lost everything materially when he became a Christian, and he had to move to the US to avoid persecution. Now Sandeep warns Christians about the grave spiritual dangers of yoga and Hinduism. • Discovering Lasting Contentment in the Lord After the NAR
The Bible encourages and comforts us in knowing that contentment from God is to be part of the Christian's life. There are times in our life that contentment can be difficult, and even temptations in this world can lead us to discontentment. Those who have come out of such movements as the New Apostolic Reformation may battle with finding contentment in Christ while grappling with Biblical truths. Join me as I discuss this thought-provoking topic with Dave Jenkins, and we reflect on the contentment only God can provide. • Unveiling the Dangerous Ideology Behind the Religious Spirit
It is a recurrent theme that when some leaders are questioned with regards to their teaching and their beliefs, accusations of a religious spirit or a legalist spirit gets tossed into the ring. Those who would dare test what is taught in accordance with Scripture, or those who would conceive of questioning the man or woman of God are seemingly labeled as being plagued with that pesky religious spirit. Join Dawn on this new Contending for the Word episode as she discusses a recent public response focusing on this elusive spirit, and the trouble it has brought in posing questions to confusing and questionable teachings. • Taylor Swift: Witchcraft and Her Influence on Today’s Culture
Taylor Swift seemed like a sweet professing Christian pop country singer. So what happened to her? During her Eras tour as you'll see in this video, Taylor is clearly dancing witches' coven ceremonies during her Willow song, and she is posting about witchcraft, sorcery and casting spells. A witch school even welcomed Taylor into their tribe. Tragically though - even if Taylor genuinely doesn't believe she's a witch - she is glorifying witchcraft and is influencing audience members toward witchcraft. You'll also see and hear about Taylor's bizarre post about sorcery and the video of an airplane appearing as she sang about a plane during her Labyrinth song. Pastor Joe Schimmel of Good Fight Ministries - who himself was saved out of demonic rock practices - warns about the dangers of Taylor and other popular singers like Stevie Nicks and Beyoncé, opening the doorway to Satanism and witchcraft. • The Marks of Healthy and Unhealthy Churches and Leaders
Today we are seeing men and women in the New Apostolic Reformation promoting the idea that we need additional revelation outside of the Word of God and that there is a need for Apostles and Prophets today. In this episode of Contending for the Word, Dave and Dawn consider examples of two leaders in the New Apostolic Reformation Kathryn Krick and Lily Java and why their teaching is so dangerous because it promotes false revival, and additional revelation outside of Scripture. They also discuss the danger of not testing all things with the Word of God, the marks of a healthy church, and how and why to test all things with the Word. What You'll Hear on This Episode • Why we need the Lord and one another in the local church. • The marks of a healthy church and an unhealthy church. • The danger of false revival being pushed on the church. • The danger of not testing all things with the Word of God. • How and why to test all things with the Word. • Examining the Claims of Kathryn Krick's "Female Apostleship"
There is a growing desire in acknowledging women as holding authoritative positions in the church. Among those who hold to modern-day apostles and prophets, there are women who espouse to be apostles, appealing to Junia in Romans 16 as affirmation of this belief. Was Junia a female apostle noted in Romans 16? Is there an issue with claiming to be an apostle today, let alone a female apostle? Join me on this new Contending for the Word show as we take a look at a recent teaching from a professing female apostle while comparing it to Scripture.
