Recently, I realised that along with my guests on the Conversations About Power podcast, I’m creating a patchwork of ideas, insights, questions, angles, and beliefs about power. This goes so much deeper and broader than I could go by myself.
In this Conversation, I'm reflecting on the last 12 episodes where I've been talking to 12 amazing, intuitive, warm, clever, funny, intelligent women who are also business owners.
This set of conversations has gone deeper into our exploration of power. It's been fascinating.
So in this episode, I'm reflecting on these conversations, on what I've learned and on the effect they have had on me and my ideas and beliefs. There's an invitation at the end of the episode too. I look forward to sharing all this with you.

In today's Conversation About Power, I'm talking to the dynamic Julie Fairhurst.
Julie had a tough start in life. When she started work in real estate, she didn't know anybody who owned their own home. But she buckled down, she learned, she worked on her attitude and she became incredibly successful.
That's already a great story. And after all that, she decided she wanted to write and publish books.
And now she's working on her 30th. That's the kind of woman Julie is. She's an action taker. She's intuitive. She's kind. She's funny. She's a great storyteller. And she's got some tough talk too. This is not a woman to mess with.
Get ready for a really fascinating story and to learn from Julie’s ideas and experiences.

Today's Conversation About Power is a special one, because I'm talking to my sister, Julie Coleman.
We're exploring a piece of our family history and how we relate to power, knowing what we do now.
This story started off as a mystery. Every family has these kinds of mysteries - things you wonder about and never get to the bottom of. Our mystery was about one of our great-grandmothers and where she came from.
Julie put her detective hat on and discovered a mass of information. Some of this information was unbelievable, in an exciting way. And some of it was abhorrent.
We talk about Julie’s discoveries, how we reacted to them and what Julie decided to do with the information she found.

In today's Conversation About Power, I'm talking to Bolutiwi Aiyesimoju.
Bolutiwi spent 14 years in a corporate environment and was very successful. But, just like a lot of us, that environment ultimately didn’t fit. It’s too much about hustle culture and doesn’t allow us to be authentically ourselves as women.
If you've ever escaped from the corporate world, or if you're secretly dreaming about your escape plan, this episode is going to make you reevaluate some of your associations with power. Not only that, you’ll also learn you have more power than you realise!
This episode explores masculine and feminine associations with power. Get ready to feel motivated!

In today's Conversation About Power, I'm talking to Stella Scott.
Stella has had a fascinating career starting with running a dance company. She's been an opera singer, a Gestalt therapist, and now she's a coach and astrologer.
She's also very intelligent and frequently asks questions that we may not have thought to even ask before. Partly, this comes from her unique perspective from being the daughter of a Swedish woman and an African American man - 2 very different experiences of power.
In this episode, we talk about how our sense of having power is determined by our direct and historical experience of it and by our ease of access to power and to ways to change things.
Get prepared to change your perspective on power.

In this conversation about power, I'm talking to Megan Cain.
Megan Cain is an ops expert who works with visionary CEOs of growing service based businesses, especially with a social impact and non-profit focus. These CEOs know there are gaps that keep them stuck in the day to day of their business.
She helps them fill in the gaps (the often-missing middle layers of strategy and management), so they can get back to doing the visionary work that they love and that will propel their business forwards.
During this conversation we talk about how we can help our businesses grow powerfully and how we can address issues of power while doing so. Megan shares that we are in a unique position to enable change.
Listen in for a thought-provoking episode.

In this Conversation About Power, I'm talking to Joanna Ingram.
Joanna has gone from being a high-flying ad exec in Canary Wharf in London, to working with coaches as her own boss.
She's doing this in her own unique way, which combines breath work, her ad expertise and ceramics.
This conversation is about vulnerability, about ceramics, and about all kinds of things to do with power. This is a longer conversation than normal, but that's because there was so much that needed to be said. Enjoy.

In this conversation about power, I'm talking to Michal McCracken. Michal used to have a successful business based on hustle and hard work.
Then she walked away because it wasn't making her happy. And now she helps women with businesses to take back the power over their lives, their businesses and their schedules and to take better care of themselves.
This means they can take better care of those around them and their clients.
This is a great episode, if you're interested in evaluating how you're doing things. And if you wonder if there are ways to do things with less hustle, this is going to challenge some of your ideas and get you thinking.
