In this Conversation About Power, I'm talking to Lise Loensmann.
Lise is a somatic practitioner and an embodiment mentor. She works with women who have gone through trauma.
She helps them feel more at home in their bodies, so they also feel more at home with other people and that helps them feel more powerful in their lives.
During this session, we also talk about circles and how the process of connection and co-creation helps everybody involved (including the facilitator). So, we’re also going behind the scenes here about facilitating a circle.
If you have experienced some kind of trauma yourself, you don't need to worry about hearing stories that might trigger you because that's not what this episode is about. So, relax and enjoy this episode.

In today's Conversation About Power, I'm talking to Johanna Paulussen. Johanna is a body-oriented therapist working with women who struggle with relationships and boundaries.
She takes them on a journey towards self-healing and living their lives authentically, which is how we got to the subject of power being about identity - a very deep identity that helps you feel able to share and say what it is that you want to say.
This is a very encouraging conversation, especially if you haven't been in business very long or if you find it hard to speak up. Enjoy

In this Conversation About Power, I'm talking to Annemiek van Helsdingen. Annemiek is the founder of the Academy for Soul Based coaching, where she and her global team teach coaching skills that invite sustainable embodied change.
Now, she's been involved with change for a long, long time starting in a corporate environment. How is it to experience your own power in a corporate environment? And what's the difference if you're working for yourself, or working with your own team and making your own choices? And as well as that we also touch on some very relevant subjects like fluffy jumpers and dragons.
This is a lovely conversation. It goes left, right and all over the place, but it's always talking about the thing that matters, how we experience power and what a difference that can make in our lives and in our clients lives. You'll have fun with this one.

In today's Conversation About Power I wanted to reflect on the first 12 conversations and on my journey in podcasting so far. I'll be sharing insights I've gained, lessons I've learned, and my thoughts about creating a podcast.
Conversations About Power started in a massage chair at the hairdresser’s. The lightbulb moment of a ‘Why don’t I start talking about power in a podcast?’ is now a reality. And - surprise - it hasn’t been what I expected.
During this episode, I reflect on my guests, on what I’ve learned about power, how organising the podcast has evolved, and about what I’ve, unexpectedly, come to love about podcasting.
If you enjoy this podcast, don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss out on the latest Conversation about Power. And if you’d like to contact me directly, you can find me here:

In this new episode of Conversations About Power, my guest is Shehnaaz Latif, an evaluator who helps companies and charities assess their performance. Shehnaaz has made an art out of asking questions to analyse situations.
In this episode, Shehnaaz goes all in on exploring ideas around power, including her thoughts on systemic racism - a form of power abuse.
I wanted to explore with her because of a previous conversation where she opened up about her personal experiences with racism. I have indirect experiences of racism listening to my children’s experiences and I wanted to look more closely into the relationship between power and racism.
Have a listen and see what you think.
This turned out to be a fascinating conversation, not just if you’re interested in racism but also if you want to understand the complex dynamics between power and prejudice.

In this new episode of Conversations About Power, I'm talking to Ellen Kloosterman. Ellen is a singer, a songwriter and a singing coach. She is one of the most positive people I've ever met in my life.
She comes into a room and the energy rises. It's a special, special quality that she's got.
In this conversation, Ellen talks about her associations about power and how to plug into your personal power.
Ellen is a great example of how you can find your own personal power. She tells us about a project that she set up quite by accident, which has helped her feel more powerful. And she will also be talking about the challenges that come from having ADHD and not having routines (routines are one of the ways that you can feel more powerful if you are repeating challenges again and again). Enjoy this conversation. I'm sure it's going to give you an energy boost.

In this new episode of Conversations About Power, my guest is Ellen Leonard. Ellen is a stress nerd. She knows more about stress than most people could even guess about it. She's also a business buddy of mine who I've been talking to for the last three or four years almost every week.
You're going to pick up on all her knowledge during this conversation because Ellen really opens up. She talks about her own negative connotations about the word power, and how that has made her feel about power.
Ellen’s the kind of person who prepares thoroughly for a podcast, so she had thought about the questions I was asking beforehand. In the process she realised some things about herself and about her conditioning. And that's what she's talking about during this conversation. You're going to really enjoy her honesty. We're also going to be talking about one of our favorite books written by Mona Eltahawy. And I'll be sharing about a teenage experiment in a swimming pool.
