    • Developing Healthy Habits To Reach Your Potential With Guest Apurva Agarwal

In this week's episode, the CB duo welcomes Apurva Agarwal. She is an Indian immigrant living her dream in Chicago. She moved to America in 2013 to pursue Finance at Indiana University and is currently working her dream 9-5 at a Chocolate company. Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs and jewelers, it seemed natural to her to follow in those footsteps but the key was to add her own twist.

She's the founder of Amaaya Jewelry where she is carving a niche for affordable luxury- premium quality products at an affordable price. She's passionate about building a community, developing healthier habits for success, living life one experience at a time, and blending the best of both worlds.

Apurva shares her tips on developing healthy habits to manage two full-time jobs, while also maintaining good mental health and social life. She discusses how to create systems, plan, and schedule her day so that she can reach her full potential. In addition, she shares how it's not always "easy" and about some of the downfalls that she's had so that you can avoid them.

    • Falling Into Autumn: From PSLs, Seasonal Depression, And Tips To Cope

It's officially autumn/fall! The CB duo sits down with their drink of choice (Divya with a PSL and Ravisha with a regular latte... yep, she's not a PSL lover) to chat about all things fall - from feelings, transitions, and coping with shorter & darker days.

The pair start by discussing how not everyone is a fall lover. With Ravisha not being a huge "fall fan", she often felt like an odd one out with her lower mood, sadness, and struggling with transitioning to a less busy schedule. On the opposite end, Divya loves the cooler days and more relaxed weekends at home. They share why fall can be harder for some than others (yes, there's lots of research behind this) bringing awareness to the many emotion-related struggles that arise during this time of the year.

In this episode, the duo will touch on:

      • Why fall can be an emotional struggle for some (transitions, end of the year, family time, etc.)
      • How to wind down and be intentional with your energy to turn inward in a healthy way
      • Coping in an effective way
      • Creating healthy fall habits & why they are different than summer ones

      • You're Damned if you Do, You're Damned if you Don't With Guest Ami Desai

This week the CB duo sit down with beauty guru, influencer, digital creator, and the "big sister" for South Asians on social media - Ami Desai! Divya and Ravisha have been following Ami for years, and are continuously inspired by her passion and influence in the beauty, family, and lifestyle space.

This episode is an interesting one because it was originally focused on beauty standards, and even though the three of them discussed this, they got DEEP and Ami shared many transformative insights, tips for how she navigates being a South Asian woman, and societal expectations. The CB duo had many speechless moments as they kept realizing that you're really "dammed if you do, you're dammed if you don't" and how to identify values, passions, and goals - and launch that into motivation to follow your dreams.

Sit down with a cup of coffee for this one and take it all on, it's a good episode (at one point, Ravisha said she was "shook"!)

      • “Adulting” As Roommates: How To Have Success With Cohabitation

This week the CB duo dives into a prominent topic in adulthood transitions that is under-discussed... cohabitating! Cohabitating of all kinds - with partners, friends, family, and strangers. They discuss their experiences with each kind - and how they come with their own challenges.

Using an article (shown below) as a discussion starter, they dive into the unique intimacy of "nonromantic" roommate relationships. Ravisha, who has lived with non-romantic partners for almost 10 years contrasts with Divya's experience living with her husband for over 5 years. They share what has worked with them in cohabitating (with all kinds of people) and what has absolutely not worked, so it can help navigate you in the right direction!

In this episode, you will hear the CB duo chat on...

        • Discussing how cohabitation impacts mental health
        • How to create a "safe and comfortable" home environment with whoever you are cohabitating with
        • The uniqueness of "nonintimate" roommate relationships and how to create a successful dynamic

        • Bad Dating Advice That We've ALL Taken

In this week's episode, the CB duo share the worst relationship advice they have heard and taken (hint: one of the worst ones Divya gave Ravisha when they were 13). They break down common advice around ghosting, playing "hard to get", and how much/how little interest to show. With two perspectives, Divya being married and Ravisha single and dating - they share their perspectives and how they have extremely shifted as the years have progressed.

They get real about how the advice they heard has influenced their decision-making in relationships. Ravisha gets real about how the topics of playing hard to get and ghosting are frustrating in current dating life but can be hard to break out of due to many societal pressures. This one gets juicy and real, what the CB duo always strives for!

In this episode, listen for them dive into..

          • Who should you even take dating/relationship advice from?
          • What is the worst advice you've ever heard?
          • How media normalizes "bad advice"
          • How to reframe thoughts on relationships + sit with emotional discomfort so that their relationships can thrive

          • Never Have I Ever ... Felt So Represented In The Media

The CB Duo comes to you high off binging Never Have I Ever, Indian Matchmaking, and Wedding Season THREE top 10 Netflix hits with a South Asian emphasis! Yes, we said THREE.

Divya and Ravisha are thrilled to discuss how far media has come with representation since the time they were younger. They reflect on how the lack of representation of actresses and leads who looked like them influenced their self-esteem and confidence in school, friendships, and in relationships.

They reflect on how the media representation of South Asians even 5 years ago was of 'stereotypical' nerds, cab drivers, and owning convenient stores. Though they saw desi representation on media, they never felt connected to it until recently (cue Queen Mindy!)

            This episode covers...

            • How representation impacts mental health
            • How their self-esteem has grown through the years as they have been more represented on media
            • What brought them together despite lack of media representation

Divya and Ravisha sit down IN PERSON (yay!) to discuss their summers and the future of the podcast. They get real about how they've been doing, where they hope the podcast goes, and what has been getting in the way of some of their goals.

They reflect on some of their biggest lessons of the podcast and their personal lives over the past three months. The past few months have been A LOT with...

              • Divya and Ravisha switching jobs

              • Self Care...On A Budget

This week the CB duo dives into the thing most millennials don't get enough of ... self-care! Divya and Ravisha get what it's like to be pulled in a hundred directions - and know that many ways that people discuss self-care can be expensive. They bust the idea that self-care has to be luxurious by defining what exactly self-care really is.

They start by discussing why self-care can be so uncomfortable and sharing their own feelings of guilt, shame, and anxiety that they've had around practicing self-care. They reflect on cultural intersections and how that plays into their narrative of self care.

The CB duo then shares what it's like to not have "enough" time or money for self-care - a common struggle for many people. They share some research backed self-care ideas as well as their own experiences that have helped in creating time for some free (or low budget) self-care.

              • What Each Enneagram Type Talks About In Therapy

This episode the CB duo dives into one of their favorite subjects .... personality tests! Specifically, the Enneagram test (you can take it here: https://www.truity.com/test/enneagram-personality-test). It is probably no surprise that Divya and Ravisha are both Type 2's, known as the "Helper" or "Empath". Naturally as two women in healthcare who started a podcast to spread mental health awareness, discuss stigmatized topics, and help people feel less alone, this is down their ally!

They start by discussing how each type deals with stress and decision making, drawing from their own lives and examples of others. They reflect on how their readiness to support others, empathy, and self-sacrifice though parts of their personalities that they love, are also aspects that can lead to emotional burnout. Divya shares one of her favorite songs about Type 2s, and the two get emotional listening to it *warning you will need a tissue* (find the song here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTilJNFgKYw)

They then go through an article that inspired the episode, on how "childhood wounds" can influence what you discuss in therapy as each Enneagram type. They reflect on how they think patterns are formed and about people in their lives who have those personality types. The ending of the episode finishes with Divya sharing her knowledge as a licensed psychotherapist on the evidence behind personality tests (especially the ones you are probably most familiar with)!

This is a fun and light hearted episode, so dive in with us!
