    Former Miami City Ballet dancer Zoe Zien joins Michael and Rebecca to discuss the trademarks of the Balanchine technique: what makes it beautiful and functional.  We examine why Balanchine made changes to classical technique, how the training enables dancers to execute his repertoire, and debunk myths.  Ms. Zien danced somewhere around 50 Balanchine ballets in her career and is the daughter of former NYCB dancer and current SAB teacher, Susan Pilarre.
