1.  Genesis 8 is a re-creaton story.  Take a moment to look over Genesis 1.  What is similar between chapter 1 & 8?  What is difference?

2.  How does God’s salvation and preservation of Noah shape the way we think about the future of redemption?

3.  Read  Isaiah 11:6-19.  In what ways with the New Creation be like our current world?  In what ways will it be different?

2.  Why did God provide the ark?  In what sense is the ark a picture of the gospel?

1. The author of Genesis describes Noah as a righteous man, blameless in his generation, and as a man who walked with God. How does Hebrews 11:7 help us to better understand this?

2. What is a covenant? Why do you think God relates to His people in covenants? How does this give us hope?

3. How does this text point us to the hope found in Jesus? How might these truths stir us up in our mission and evangelism?

1.  Take a moment to reread the first half of Genesis 3.  Compare the ways that Adam, Eve, and Cain experience temptation and deal with their sin.  What has changed?  What is the same?

2.  How does Cain’s sin grow throughout Genesis 4?  What can this teach us about the nature of sin.  How have you personally experienced this?

3.  How would you characterize God’s response to Cain’s sin?  What does God’s response reveal about His nature and character?

4.  What warnings or encouragements does this text have you for your personally?

1. John tells us that God is love. How does this effect God’s other attributes?

2. How does Jesus as the propitiation for sins reveal God’s love to you? How does this effect your view of God as the God of love?

3. In what ways do you struggle to show love to others? How does the gospel empower you to love as Jesus loved?

4. Are there specific people you have been withholding love from or that you need to intentionally love? What would repentance look like in this relationship?
