What comes to mind when you hear of King Uzziah? Many Christians recall the passage in Isaiah 6 where the prophet Isaiah had a divine encounter in the year of Uzziah's death (Isa 6:1). But there are many more lessons that can be gleaned from the life of this king who ascended the throne at the young age of 16. Scripture says that Uzziah was 'marvellously helped' by the Lord. Uzziah's many exploits squash the notion that 'holiness equals passivity'. Let's open our hearts to learn from his life and see why it’s so applicable for us today.

Many of the things that are happening in my life today were prophesied to me in the early ’80s. That was when I first heard the call of God for my life. I had no idea what it was going to cost and not in my wildest imagination could I have foreseen all that God has done for me. It was many years later that God came along to activate that call. It was as if He turned on the ignition and everything came alive in me. I believe He wants to do that for many of you as well. Come and be activated.

With bible stories that some of us first encountered in Sunday school, it's easy to miss some of the deeper lessons. What is the book of Jonah about? What is its prophecy? What is its message? Why was Jonah so unhappy with God? As we take a closer look at Jonah, what are the takeaways for our lives?

Right now, all eyes are on the Presidential elections going on in the United States. In just 9 days, we'll know whether or not America will have a new president. And there are definite ramifications. Whoever is the next president will affect us one way or another and we cannot be naïve about it. Do we have to pray? Definitely. But I want to suggest to you that the elections in the US, though important, is not the big thing that all the citizens of heaven are talking about. I don’t think the angels and the saints are too deeply concerned about this, because we're about to see, in our generation, the one event all heaven is waiting for!

We’re in a season where the Lord wants us to step into our pre-determined destinies. But before that happens, we should expect to face adversity. This happens to every person who’s seeking to walk in the fullness and highest call of God for his life. The enemy has the right to test and try you, but hear the promise of God – you shall pursue, overtake, and recover all!
