When the ABC's South East Asia correspondent Adam Harvey was struck in the neck by a stray bullet in the Philippines recently it was only a few minutes before he was on Twitter, bleeding from the wound and talking to audiences whilst undergoing medical examinations. But in the background, are the families, who trail along. They're the silent partners, looking after the kids, holding up the domestic end during those long and often dangerous trips away. Adam's wife, Eliza Harvey is an outstanding journalist in her own right. What was it like for her to be told that Adam had been shot?
