Edith - I'll add, do what you can do and don't beat on yourself for what you couldn't do. Each day is a chance to try again
Bonnie -
1. I try something new each year with a personal challenge (e.g. do a different walk/find new place I've never been. This makes it fun to explore and be a tourist in my own area. 2. The creative photography fun. Look for cool angles, hidden shapes, unique colors, surprising finds, wildlife, as many different varieties of mushrooms as possible. 3. Pathetic but true. I love posting pics and trip reports then seeing the likes and comments. I have fun with the narrative before I post. 4. Accountability so helps. 5. Not beating myself up if I don't do something amazing. A little walk around the neighborhood is better than nothing. (And if don't even make that, it is ok. Sometimes our bodies need rest to heal and prevent a cold) 6. Not letting time of day or weather stop me. Having headlamp, reflective vest, bracelets, etc. for night walks, all the rain gear, fun giant umbrella and rainboots if it is pouring, a puffy, cute hat and sock monkey mittens if it is cold.... 7. This year with a different schedule being creative in finding some walks/hikes that are farther away. My bucket list is to do turkey trot on Thanksgiving wearing a tutu, hat with the feathers , etc. Kevin - My advice is first, have fun. Second, set whatever goal is good for you, and for no one else. And have fun with your goal. Third, make time, every day. Whatever time of day works for you. And have fun no matter how much time you spend on any day. Fourth, hold yourself accountable in a fun way. No one else is the boss of you. Do what you can each day and celebrate it. And have fun. I love the November Walking Challenge because it really just impacted daily habits. I focus more on consistent daily activity more so than when Lyn started this 5 years ago. I do it because I want to. And I have fun. Philip - My motivation is simple. We exist once. Make the most of it. Staying healthy makes the most of it. Thank yo for a great 5 years!
