Counterflow with Buck Johnson

Our friend Scott Horton is back on the show this week. Scott is the head man over at the Libertarian Institute and AntiWar.com. He's here to help us understand where things stand between NATO, Russia, Ukraine, and the United States. How did the conflict happen? Why did the press tell us that Russia was going to lose? Where are things right now, and where are things headed?

My guest this week runs the Kingpilled podcast as well as the Astrolabe. His political analysis has been pretty accurate over the last year as he's explained the PayPal mafia and how he predicted the pick of JD Vance for the VP slot. We discuss the ridiculous and fake nature of the Kamala Harris propaganda, the coming Trump victory, the positives and negatives of that, as well as what this circulation of the elites that is underway means, and who is running the show.

My guest this week has had a wild journey in and out of Christianity, Satanism, the Occult, and more. He's now an Orthodox Christian, and he's here to discuss the twists, turns, and life-changing moments he's experienced. From the Left Hand Path, thelema, and the Church of Satan, to the Assemblies of God, to the Ancient Faith, Elias has seen a lot. I think you'll find this to be a fascinating discussion.

My guest today is the founder of OrthodoxEthos.com, Father Peter Heers. I am blessed to be able to head over to Mt. Athos as part of a pilgrimage with Fr. Peter. In this episode, we discuss what Mt. Athos is, what it has meant and continues to mean to the Church, what our trip will be like, and more. Fr. Peter has been to Mt. Athos more times than we can recount, and he gives us a deep dive on the beauty and wonders of one of the most sacred places on the planet.

My guest this week is Dr. Jeannie Constantinou, back with us once again to discuss her works on Andrew of Caesarea's commentary on the Book of Revelation. Andrew is a Church Father, and his commentary on Revelation is the go-to work on the Apocalypse for the Orthodox Church. Since the late 1800's, there have been a lot of misconceptions and misrepresentations regarding the Book of Revelation. There have been movies and books like "The Late Great Planet Earth" and the "Left Behind" series that falsely tell of a pre-tribulation rapture. And now in pop culture, many use out-of-context quotes from the book and fit their own predictions and ideas into them. Jeannie explains how Andrew of Caesarea studied the Book of Revelation, his interpretations of it, how he arrived at various explanations, and more. Why isn't the Book of Revelation read liturgically in our Church? We get into that and a lot more.

My guest today is Sister Anastasia. We cover some of the themes in her book, "You Are Mine" as well as some of the things she writes about on her Substack: https://sisteranastasia.substack.com. The wild journey Sister Anastasia took to becoming a nun revealed much about addiction and inner purification to her. In this discussion, Sister Anastasia answers some common yet hard questions about spirituality, addiction, even Yoga and head covering in Church.

My guest this week is the man behind the Study of Stuff Podcast and SOS Radio: Mano Elia. Mano was born into Orthodox Christianity and as a teen, drifted into occult, New Age, and Hermeticism. We discuss what he learned throughout that journey and what pulled him back towards Christ and the Orthodox Church. It's a sort of Prodigal Son story with some interesting twists and turns.
