Jay sits down in the studio with country/rap superstar Breland to talk about his new album, finally getting to tour to support his single that came out before the pandemic, and growing up in a musical family. Plus Breland talks about how he pivoted into country music, how he saw Justin Bieber's achievements as an attainable goal for a guy his age, and jokes how he was an artist who was also an athlete like so many artists try to become. Jay also talks to Breland about turning down music school to pursue business, and finding achievement in their respective professions. Breland also sings a really cool country hook that he wrote as he talks to Jay about his love of "finding the hook" as a songwriter and how much he lives for that moment. And of course Breland tells the story about writing his hit single "My Truck", releasing it on social media without a plan and watching it explode on TikTok, leading to his record deal.
