Did you miss us? We're finally back from summer break with three awesome indie books that bring the retro-chic, the wealthy elite, and the Victorian bleak. It's good to be back, baby!
We're back, baby! Welcome to season two of your favorite (we assume) comic and entertainment podcast! This week we took our keisters to the theater for the release of The Suicide Squad, and hot damn, was it worth it. A great mix of gruesome violence and heart-warming character development, suddenly you're grossed out and aww-ing at the cuteness all at the same time. It's a lot, but we cover it all!
It's the movie we were promised a decade ago, and hot damn it actually lives up to our expectations! Not necessarily a revelation in cinema, but a hellova fun ride and certainly the film Natasha deserves after a long-served tenure in the MCU. And can we just TALK about how fantastic Yelena is? Anyway, let's get into all deets!
Cover B is on summer break, but we'll be back with brand new episodes in August. In the meantime, were sharing some segments from way back when that you may have missed. This week, were talking the worst couples in comics - and trust us, there are some doozies. It's all happening now on Cover B.
Cover B is on summer break, but we'll be back with brand new episodes in August. In the meantime, were sharing some segments from way back when that you may have missed. This week, it's one of our early Key Issues, all about cross over events and how little they seem to matter in comics nowadays. It's all happening now on Cover B.
Cover B is on summer break, but we'll be back with brand new episodes in August. In the meantime, were sharing some segments from way back when that you may have missed. With events getting back to normal, we though this week we'd share our segment on conventions and how to keep yourself sane in the big broohaha of it all. It's all happening now on Cover B.
Cover B is on summer break, but we'll be back with brand new episodes in August. In the meantime, were sharing some segments from way back when that you may have missed. This week, it's our very first Graphic Novelties discussing My Heroes Have Always Been Junkies, by (you guessed it) Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips. It's all happening now on Cover B.
We're feeling a little ssssassy this week with a whole lot of titles starting with "s" - and what's even better is that they're all really good! From a Supergirl book not focused on Supergirl, to a fun twist on the "we're here to save the world" trope, there's all sorts of really need sssstories this week!
Can we talk about how little the romance genre is used in comics? Can we also talk about changing that? One title this week sets about righting that wrong, as well as a martial arts comedy and a creepy new cryptid. Look at all that genre diversity, folks!
This week came out swinging HARD, man! An excellent new horror title from Cullen Bunn, a bold new sci-fi title packing a ton of narrative threads from Ryan K. Lindsay, and one of the most stunning horror pieces we've ever read from James Tynion IV - and we mean ever. Hope you're ready to go get some books, folks, because there's plenty to choose from this go round!
