It's a battle for the ages - the giant ape who just wants to be left alone, versus man's protector, the ever alpha mega-lizard. Who wins, who loses - is it the best movie ever?
It's Godzilla vs. Kong! And it's... fine? Look, we're not breaking any barriers with this flick, but come find out if our predictions were right anyway!
There's TWO WHOLE MARVEL BOOKS in this week's episode. I know, I know, it's basically blasphemy. Well now, how about THAT! We made to episode #100, and it's all thanks to you, our amazing listeners. What happens when you mix the Hunger Games with the 2004 Vince Vaughn film, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story? Well, believe it or not, it's probably this book from French filmmaker, Merwan. We promise, this is one you won't want to skip out on.
Were there quite a few new books that dropped this week? Yes. Did we want to talk about all of them? No, because we want to make recommendations for you, not just announce new releases like an audio listicle. Does that mean this is a short episode? Not really - y'all know we like to talk (a lot).
This week is just a giant station for all the hype-trains that have come into town! From Keanu being Keanu, to Skynet meets Ultron, to Wolverine in his absolute best form, there's some really interesting stuff in stores this week.
Themes in comics tend to come in waves (vampires, anyone?), so when we get a few books that shift the tide into untouched waters, it's a nice reprieve. This week has all sorts of time periods, perspectives, and purposes - and it's definitely appreciated.
This week might be a quickie, but we're sharing some excellent new titles, one of which takes a horror-filled looked at the evils of consumerism and corporate commercialism. ...did we mention we have new merch?! Visit https://teespring.com/stores/coverbpodcast to get yours today.
