Hey, welcome to episode 38! Today’s topic is all about the reasons why creating a vision board is so powerful! I have six reasons why this is a must for your Direct Sales Business results. They may surprise you!
It doesn’t matter what time of year you’re hearing this message. You can create a vision board anytime! And it doesn’t have to be at the beginning of the year in January. And it doesn’t even have to be a board. You can create a page, a document, a book, a poster, or a digital image. The point is to create something visual to capture your deepest desires.
You can find the full transcript at crazybigdreams.biz/38.
Today I’m going to refer to whatever you may create, as a Vision Board. I would also urge you to create something that’s not digital. Most of these 6 reasons I’m sharing with you today come about because you’re in a creative process with your hands, bringing something to life from nothing.
A Vision Board Helps Direct Sales Leaders Achieve Results
The reason why creating a vision board is so impactful is more about the process of creating than the end result. Although this is powerful and important as well.
Reason number one creating a vision board is so impactful.
1. It boosts your mood! The creative process of creating something from nothing boosts your mood. You’ll find that once you create a board, it’s almost never finished. Throughout the year, you’ll find images that capture exactly what you’re after and you’ll continue the creative process. Each time, you’re right, you get a mood boost!
Reason number two.
Creating A Vision Board Improves Self-Esteem For Direct Sales Leaders
2. The creative process of making your board improves your self-esteem. As we all know, this business is a roller coaster. It has its definite ups and downs. I like to think of the Vision Board creation process as an activity that layers and pads your self-esteem. When you create your board and each time you add to it, you get another dose of confidence in your abilities.
Reason number three.
Creating A Vision Board Helps Increases Self-Confidence For Direct Sales Leaders
3. There is an average 73% increase in self-confidence when engaged in the creative process. Who doesn’t want that!?! 73 percent!?! Self-confidence is about trusting in your abilities, and your qualities and trusting your judgment!
This is what I hear so often from Direct Sales Leaders. They want to feel more confident in their leadership skills! Oh, they are confident people, yet they want to build confidence in their leadership skills.
Is this you too?! You’re not alone. Not by any stretch. Don’t let the self-talk that other leaders have it all figured out. That they don’t struggle with confidence when it comes to skills in leading their team.
Reason number four.
Creating A Vision Board Increases Well-Being for Direct Sales Leaders
4. Increase your cognitive function and mental well-being. Cognitive function is basically anything you use your brain for. More specifically, decision making, reasoning, and problem-solving. Well-being of course is your overall health and happiness. The creative process of making your Vision Board helps increase your cognitive function and mental well-being.

Hey savvy leaders! Welcome to episode 37.
It’s time to dust off your vision board! Ok, you may have created a digital one. Same thing. It’s time to revisit it! You might call it a Future Board, a Goal Poster, or something else. Whatever you call it, it’s time to get it front and center again. Today, I’m going to refer to it as a Vision Board.
Hold on, if you haven’t yet created a vision board. You’ll want to tune into episode 38 when it airs for all the fresh reasons why this is a must for results.
In the meantime, stay right here. You can also grab a listen to episode 36 “Discover Your Crazy Big Dreams as a High Achiever in Direct Sales.” It will help you get in the right headspace before creating your vision board.
Episode 37 today is all about revisiting the Vision Board you have created! You can find the full transcript at crazybigdreams.biz/37.
I have hosted several Vision Board workshops, both in-person and virtually. I absolutely love these! Most of my reasons why are in episode 38.
A Vision Board for Your Direct Sales Business Inspiration
I want to encourage you to revisit what you’ve spent the time and maybe money to create. It’s not too late. What you once created is still relevant and inspiring!
And really important, if you started one, but didn’t happen to finish it, let this be your friendly nudge to keep creating.
If you’ve completed one or not, it’s certainly not uncommon to have gotten away from keeping your creation front and center. If you created something digitally, I want you to pull it up and do two things.
One: Save it as your desktop screen saver on your computer and your phone. It’s ok if you can’t size it on your phone to see the whole thing. The point is to have a reminder. Think about how many times you pick up your phone in a day. When you see it on your screen it will elicit the visuals that you created when you put it together.
Two: Print it. Print what you created digitally. Print multiple copies if you need to. Put them up where you will see them. On a mirror, in your closet, on your fridge, in your car. You get the point. It’s so important to have this front and center.
Ok, for those of you who created a tangible Vision Board, a vision book, a poster, or anything non-digital, I want you to do two things.
One: Find it. Dust it off. Put it where you’ll see it every day.
Two: Take a picture of it. Save it as your desktop screen saver on your computer and on your phone.
Personally, I create mine on poster board. I like the hands-on creative process. I also like this option because I can hang it up and move it around my house when I choose. I work from home and it’s where I spend most of my time.
I also like moving the furniture around in my home office to get new inspiration so I move my Vision Boards where I can see them in my new layout.
When placing it on the wall, I put something like a command hook upside down and use the hooks as a shelf. So easy!
I also happen to have two smaller boards currently. They’re easier to position and put in different site lines vs having one giant board. But I’ve created those in the past as well.
The key is to be creative and do what works for you.
For more on getting your vision more visible and my favorite quote that pulls this all together go to crazybigdreams.biz/37 for the full transcript. Maybe you'll add the quote to your vision board!
It’s episode 36 friends! I’m so excited to talk today about dreaming again! This is everything I’ve built my business around. After all, I literally named my business “Crazy Big Dreams”.
It embodies what I think is so important in work and life. The main reason this is the name of my business is that I know you’ve had crazy big dreams for yourself along your direct sales business journey. And more than that, you want the women on your team to not only dream crazy big dreams for themselves but to go out and make it happen!
You know it’s possible!
Let Yourself Dream Again as a Direct Sales Leader
Today, I want you to check in with yourself on what crazy big dreams you have for yourself and your business. I also want you to check in to see IF you’re still dreaming and if those dreams are CRAZY big enough.
For the full transcript of this episode go to crazybigdreams.biz/36.
Look, this business of mine, serving high achieving women in direct sales to become savvier leaders and to transfer belief and resilience to their teams, is the manifestation of a crazy big dream I had for myself. It felt unlikely, so far out there, unreachable, crazy for sure, and frankly just too good to be true.
I already had a successful business serving CEOs and CFOs and rising entrepreneurs. It was wonderful. And I worked incredibly hard to build it and serve my clients. After more than a decade, I felt this unmet need. This need to be more creative. To answer a calling I hadn’t yet answered with my experience and passion.
I did a lot of work to uncover how to start fresh and to determine who I was meant to serve. I am inspired every day by the work that my high-achieving clients accomplish.
The respect I have for this type of entrepreneur is unmatched. It’s remarkable the sacrifice, the drive, the passion you have. It’s contagious. And I felt called to serve high-achieving women in direct sales and surround myself with your ambition.
Here we are. I’m living out my crazy big dream with this very business of granting your crazy big dreams! I am blessed. It’s been a remarkable journey and I am so grateful you’re here.
Now, let’s check in with your crazy big dreams. Have you stopped dreaming along the way? It can be easy to get pulled into working in your business. What do I mean by this? It’s the minutia of the day-to-day. The issues. The products. The results. The incentives. The client care. The mentorship. Keeping everything running.
The Importance of Working ON Your Direct Sales Business vs IN It
The flip side of working in your business is working on your business. It’s taking a step back or a step away and breathing life into the vision and the crazy big dreams you have for yourself and your team.
Don’t panic when I mention taking a step back or a step away. By this I simply mean using intentional time, even 30 minutes throughout your week, to think, dream, and cast a vision.
When you do this, it’s important to put yourself in an environment that allows your mind to feel free. Maybe that’s being outside. Just sitting. Maybe you’re taking a walk or you’re on a hike. Maybe you’re on a run.
It could be sitting in your favorite coffee shop or one you’ve never been to before. Strolling through a museum. Or going somewhere in your local community you’ve never been before to get inspiration.
The goal is to pull yourself out of your normal day-to-day surroundings and responsibilities. I promise a short amount of time can make an incredible difference.

Hey, we’re here for Episode 35! What is a queggestion and how do you use it!?
As mentors, we need all the tools we can master. Mentoring can be an interesting role to fulfill. You’re providing support, guidance, and feedback. Yet ultimately, actions and decisions are completely up to your team member.
Effective Tool to Help Teams Get Into Quicker Action
This is where queggestions can be effective! It’s a tool you can use to guide and support your team members. It’s a tool that can help your role as a mentor be more impactful. It’s a tool that can leave you feeling more equipped as a mentor. It can help your team members get in quicker action.
You can find the full transcript of this episode at crazybigdreams.biz/35.
Impactful Communication for Direct Sales Mentors
A queggestion is a suggestion posed as a question. You’ve likely been asking these already. You’ve certainly been on the receiving end of these. But to know what a queggestion is and when to use it is how your communication becomes more impactful as a mentor.
The opposite of a queggestion is a very open-ended question. Here are 5 different examples of an open question:
What could you do next?
What’s your next step?
What’s stopping you?
How will you approach this?
Who can you connect with?
Do you hear how open these are? The response you get could go in any direction! Often we can be surprised by a response to open questions. Your team member can take their answer in almost any direction. These are super powerful questions! It gets her thinking. Her answers are her own. Open questions reveal what’s truly at heart for your team member.
A queggestion is really like a leading question. When we use a queggestion we’re making a suggestion posed as a question. This is a bit more gentle than making a suggestion as a statement. It’s effective because you can direct a team member into more effective action. You’re imparting your experience and wisdom in a more directive way.
It helps her cut to the chase. It can also help address action you have a sense she’s avoiding, procrastinating, or reluctant to take. For valid reasons of course. But a queggestion helps bring you both together in a quicker fashion.
Let’s flip the open-ended questions into queggestions.
The first one was “What could you do next?” Let’s give this context. Let’s say your team member is asking about how to approach a client about your business opportunity. Instead of “What could you do next?” you could queggestion “What if you asked her how this opportunity would benefit her?”
You’re giving your team member the next step in her conversation with her client. You’re suggesting what form of communication to use (to speak with her vs text, email, dm) to speak with her and you’re giving her the next question to ask.
The second open question “What’s your next step?” As a queggestion this could be “What do you think about inviting her to our team event next week?”
The third open question was “What’s stopping you?” As a queggestion, this might sound like “Are you hesitant because you’re afraid of how she’ll respond?”
This queggestion is effective if you feel as though you have a good idea about why your team member is not taking action. Obviously, you would phrase the queggestion to reflect that specifically. I’m simply giving one example about being afraid of the response.
The fourth open question was “How will you approach this?” As a queggestion you could ask “What if you simply picked up the phone and called her instead of sending a text?”
Welcome to Episode 34! Do you say yes to others when your own personal to-do list keeps growing? Do you say no to others in a passive avoidance type of way? And then feel guilty after?
Look, boundaries are tough! They are challenging to identify, to set, and to communicate to others and they are difficult to hold. But this work I guarantee is rewarding and so worth it. Boundaries are a big topic.
Today we’re going to focus on external boundaries. External boundaries are how others treat you. Or simply put, how you allow others to treat you.
Episode 33 was about internal boundaries and how you treat yourself. If you haven’t yet, take a listen to Episode 33 when you’re done here. It will help you grasp the difference between internal and external boundaries.
Today’s episode, episode 34 is about external boundaries. You can find the full transcript of this episode at crazybigdreams.biz/34.
How others treat you, or how you allow others to treat you, is what external boundaries are all about.
Maybe you’re even thinking, as we get started here, wait a minute, I can’t control how others treat me.
And that’s the power and rewarding result of boundaries!
Yes, you can.
Although we can’t control how others behave and act, what they say, if they listen or respond, basically what is initiated by another. We can influence how we allow others to treat us. Do you hear the difference there? Recognizing the difference is really freeing in and of itself.
Ultimately it’s up to the other person to respect a boundary that has been communicated and held. It’s also up to us to determine what we want to do about a situation or relationship when another person does not respect a boundary.
Boundary work can have lots of layers. It can look and feel more difficult or less difficult with different people in our lives. Let’s start small and keep it simple for today and focus on the basics of external boundaries to get you started.
This episode is not about cleaning up boundaryless relationships. That’s several steps down the path of boundary work. There is no action to be taken with others…yet.
This message is about elevating your awareness of the boundaries in your life and work. Being able to identify what a boundary is, when a boundary is crossed, and if the boundary is external or internal.
You can watch any sitcom or movie and quickly see when boundaries are crossed. There’s lots of drama on the screen. It’s how storylines are written.
Let’s start out with an external life example and then we’ll get to an external business example.
Time is an easy external boundary example to grasp. Time is one of the most common examples of external boundaries that is not respected.
For example, if you’re having a backyard BBQ you may invite others by saying it’s from 5 pm to 8 pm. This is a boundary around your time. You’ve clearly identified when it starts and when it ends.
If you were to invite by saying come by on Saturday, we’re cooking out. Stop by when it works for you. This is how not to have a boundary around your time.
For much more on external boundaries go to crazybigdreams.biz/34.
Welcome to Episode 33! Today we’re talking about boundaries! Boundary work is not only some of the most challenging, but equally rewarding. Especially when it comes to relationships.
Today’s topic is focused solely on your relationship with yourself. Some of the most challenging and equally rewarding work comes when we can sort out boundaries here.
You can find the full transcript at crazybigdreams.biz/33.
I want to start by simplifying and breaking this down into two parts.
One: Internal Boundaries and
Two: External Boundaries.
Internal Boundaries are how you treat yourself.
External Boundaries are how others treat you.
Yes, you have influence over both.
These are big topics so today I’m going to focus solely on Internal Boundaries, and how you treat yourself, especially when it comes to your role as a high achiever with a successful, growing business.
The common areas I tend to strategize around include keeping promises you make to yourself, being consistent, and practicing healthy decisions around your worries and weaknesses.
Let me mention those again. keeping promises you make to yourself, being consistent, and practicing healthy decisions around your worries and weaknesses.
Can you relate to any, or maybe all of these? Look, boundary work is tough. It doesn’t have to be intimidating though. And I’m here to simplify it for you. I didn’t say make it easy, because it’s not. But it can be simplified so you’re encouraged. Again, the rewards are so worth it.
First, promises. To keep a promise to yourself, you have to first make one. Do you still make promises to yourself? Or have you let yourself down one too many times that you stopped making promises to yourself? You certainly wouldn’t be alone.
Keeping promises with yourself is all about following through. Doing what you say you’ll do. I know, that if there’s a team member or your mentor that you made a promise to I know you would follow through without hesitation. Am I right? You keep your word.
But do you keep it with yourself with the loyalty and dependability you do for others?
Start small here. Make one promise to yourself today and keep it. Maybe it’s one task on your schedule for today that you would easily put off. This is an example of not following through for yourself. I trust if it made your calendar it’s important.
This is about how you show up for yourself. If your internal boundaries need work, we don’t necessarily see examples like this as how we treat ourselves. It completely is.
And all of a sudden your eyes may be opened to all the many seemingly insignificant ways in which you could be showing up for yourself.
What about being consistent? How many times have you said to yourself “I’ll be more consistent and get back to the activities I did when I first started my business?” And you did, but you didn’t keep with it. I have dedicated episode 25 to this very topic. Don’t get down on yourself. It’s ok. Instead, check out Episode-25 Do You Need to Get Back to Basics in Your Direct Sales Business?
Finally, do you have a healthy distance between you and your worries? What about your perceived weaknesses? Or do your worries take over your thoughts and fuel your days? I picked these areas of focus because they are incredibly common. You are not alone.
Mostly, awareness is a powerful gift here. Acknowledging all of this is about your relationship with yourself, how you show up for yourself, and your self-respect, well now we see the opportunity!

We’re here for episode 32. Burnout. Depending on how you’re feeling about your business when you listen to this, this topic can resonate in a few different ways.
Either you’ll feel validated and it will resonate. Or it won’t necessarily apply now but you’ll have the beneficial information to help you through if you do experience signs of burnout down the road.
You can find the full transcript of today’s episode at crazybigdreams.biz/32.
Burnout by definition is a syndrome resulting from chronic work-related stress. It’s characterized in three ways:
1. Feelings of energy depletion or exhaustion
2. Increased mental distance from your work and
3. Feelings of negativity or cynicism related to your business.
Are you feeling any of these? Maybe you know full well that you’re dealing with a serious case of burnout.
It’s also possible you didn’t know you were experiencing burnout but listening here today has you wondering if you might be.
Lastly, if you’re full of energy for your work, fully engaged and present with your work, and expressing all the good vibes of positivity, go ahead and feel confirmed you’re not experiencing burnout right now. Wonderful. Enjoy! And keep listening so you have this info to help someone else, or your future self, if the need arises.
If, however, you do recognize yourself with a serious case of burnout I know it can feel like it will never end. That you’ll be stuck here forever.
You won’t. At least you don’t have to be.
Burnout for high-achievers in Direct Sales can show up a few different ways. It can look like avoiding meetings and people when you formerly did not find yourself doing this.
It can show up as procrastination for hours, days, or even weeks on different activities for your business.
It can also show up as rationalizing and justifying the reasons why you’re not meeting certain benchmarks or goals with your business.
It can also come with feelings or being perceived as temperamental, moody, or distant. Feelings of self-doubt, significant lack of motivation, or a decreased sense of fulfillment and accomplishment.
It can also be that certain things you once enjoyed, looked forward to, or even had fun with, now feel like a total energy drainer, like your social media, for example.
These are just a few of the most common.
Now, it’s normal to feel or experience any one of these at any given time and not be experiencing burnout. Totally normal.
Burnout, however, is typically when all or most of these are experienced at the same time or at different times within the same season of business.
Business-related burnout can also start impacting how we show up to other areas of life.
Maybe you recognize some point in your past when you were experiencing burnout.
If you’re currently navigating a case of burnout, the risk is that the level of burnout gets so difficult that you just want to throw in the towel, walk away from your business, at some level, and be done with it all.
Let’s not let that happen. It doesn’t have to be that way.
Know burnout can be temporary. You won’t always be in this space. You will not always feel this way.
But what do you do about it?
One of the first things that can provide the biggest benefit is to take a break. I know that can sound scary and feel impossible. Because I know burnout can feel like a trap. Like you’ll never be free of this place you're stuck in and the feelings that come with it.
For much more on this go to the full transcript at crazybigdreams.biz/32.
Hey savvy leaders! Welcome to episode 31.
There is an area of personal development most Direct Sales leaders have been missing out on. Most women I work with haven’t yet connected the dots on this opportunity. I know you recognize the significant personal development journey you’ve been on. It happened organically as you built your business.
The person that you were before you said yes to your business opportunity is not someone you maybe recognize today.
To succeed at building your business you have to grow personally. What a gift!
Episode 30 was dedicated to giving you permission to celebrate your personal business wins. If you haven’t yet soaked in that episode I invite you to click back to it after this one. These two episode topics are directly linked.
When we dismiss our personal wins we’re missing out on critical opportunities along the personal development journey. More specifically – the leadership development journey.
When personal wins are celebrated self-confidence boosts! When you celebrate your wins in business and as a mentor, you build your leadership confidence. Confidence in your leadership means you trust your abilities and qualities as a leader.
All women I work with express the desire to build their confidence as a leader. This may ring better for some of you as not doubting yourself as a leader. How you go about mentoring, training, developing your team, and making decisions. An increase in confidence is a decrease in self-doubt.
When you experience a boost in confidence as a leader, this, in turn, gives the motivation to achieve more. I know you’ve experienced this. But have you truly tapped into its power? And connected all of these dots?
Let’s say you have an emerging leader, a self-starter, yet someone you get really excited about mentoring and building, and everything’s clicking. It’s a boost for you, for your team, and for her downline.
You get an energy kick when you talk and connect with her. It leaves you feeling inspired to connect with the next person, do the next thing, get out there and make something happen. The energy is contagious in a positive way.
The big difference here I see leaders missing out on is this. Pausing to recognize what you did well from the beginning with this emerging leader. I’ve always said we can not take too much responsibility for someone’s success or failure. Yet you’re her mentor. Her leader. And you have a relationship. So, acknowledging that you have a role in this is important.
More so, pausing to recognize and drill in on what worked to get the wins with her. Not her wins. You’re looking at your wins as a leader and mentor. Maybe these are even things that you did not do. These can also be wins.
Maybe you let her lead the pace this time. Maybe you focused more on actions leading to results vs getting bogged down in training. Maybe you implemented the new system you’ve worked hard on recently. Cement the lessons learned as you celebrate the wins.
In turn, you attract more positive energy into your life and business.
All of this communicates you’re unstoppable.
Your takeaway: Don’t miss the important step of pausing to recognize YOUR win. And celebrate it!
Let me quickly bring all of this together for you with a visualization. I want you to picture a circle. In the center is “Celebrate the Win”. This is the hub and what gets the circle moving. Without the hub, the circle won’t be in motion.
For all the best on maximizing your personal development go to crazybigdreams.biz/31 for the full transcript.
And click on over to Instagram and share your top takeaway from today’s episode.
I can’t wait to connect.
Go be unstoppable. The best is yet to come. Always!
Welcome to episode 30!
What was your most recent personal business win and how did you celebrate it?
If you’re like most high achievers in Direct Sales, you have to pause to think about your answer to these questions. Typically, most women I’ve worked with, do not recognize most of their business accomplishments or pause to celebrate them.
You’re all busy and excited to celebrate your team! I know. Doing this for yourself doesn’t come as naturally or with as high of a priority.
Today we’re here to talk about the importance of you recognizing your own personal wins AND celebrating them. I’m also here to give you a permission slip to do so if that’s what’s holding you back.
You can find the full transcript of this episode at crazybigdreams.biz/30.
Two Important Reasons to Celebrate Business Wins as a High Achiever in Direct Sales
There are two important reasons it’s important for you to recognize your own business wins and one compelling reason why we typically don’t celebrate ourselves. It may surprise you.
The first reason it’s important for you to acknowledge and pause to celebrate your own business wins is your future team success depends on it. The alternative is burnout. How will you sustain the work that gets you celebratory wins if you’re suffering from burnout? You can’t. Plain and simple.
Burnout and Celebrating Business Wins as a High Achiever in Direct Sales
To sustain the level of activity you and your team work for, the wins, require endurance. And fueling that endurance can be so much more enjoyable and easier by simply celebrating the wins along the way.
I know, you love what you do, and feel so blessed for the opportunity you have and the business you’ve built, that celebrating your business success doesn’t feel necessary. You get to do what you love with people you love day in and day out. How could you possibly be at risk of burnout?
Well, if you’ve experienced burnout in the past, you already know this reality. The simple truth is that burnout typically sneaks up on us, especially when we’re engaged in work that we love. And, you’re a human, friend, so of course, you’re at risk for burnout. We all are.
The simple truth is that it’s important to diversify your anti-burnout strategies. When you have antidotes to protect yourself you’re preserving your future team's success as a result. Celebrating your personal wins along the way is one important antidote many aren’t tapping into.
Leading by Example as a Direct Sales Leader When Celebrating Business Wins
The second reason it’s important to celebrate your personal business wins is that it sets an example for your emerging leaders. Modeling the celebration of personal wins along the way teaches your emerging leaders that it’s not only ok but important to do so.
I know what you might be thinking. Celebrating yourself in front of your team is taboo. We all get that. Unless it’s a company-sponsored big win like a rank advancement or incentive, yet still many high achievers get a little uncomfortable with putting that attention on themselves.
Yes, they want their team to see what’s possible, but many high-achieving leaders don’t like that attention on themselves.
You can go about celebrating your personal wins, big or small, and still include your team. How? You can mention how you celebrated, big or small, in common communication. Simply by answering the question “How are you?” or “What did you do this weekend.”

Hi! Welcome to episode 29! We’ve all said it at one point or another. “There’s just not enough time in the day.”
If you’re looking to maximize the time you spend on your business and finally feel organized with how your days and months unfold, this episode is for you. And your team.
You can find the full transcript at crazybigdreams.biz/29.
If how you work best is a good power hour, and you love to plan, set goals, schedule, make lists, and cross things off, this episode is to help you get more done with those tools in less time.
If your style is not like this at all, and you would simply rather be with people instead of your planner, I invite you to listen to episode 28 in addition to this episode, 29!
Episode 28 is for those leaders who have a certain magic to their madness if you will in how they work best & what their leadership style is like.
But stay right here for episode 29 before you go back to 28. Why? Because you have people on your team that have a best way to work that’s opposite of yours.
You’ll relate better, and mentor them better, by taking a listen. They’ll also likely have even greater respect and gratitude for you after you share the tips I have for you here.
And if how you work best is a mix of both, being with people, and a few power hours here and there, then you’re in the right spot as well.
Let’s get to it.
All high-achieving leaders in Direct Sales that I talk with share the same struggle. They think their biggest strength should be to be more organized. Especially more organized with their time.
If this is you, even a little bit, my best strategy is to apply themes to your schedule. That’s right. Themes.
If you’re already doing power hours, good for you. These are focused, highly productive segments of time that glean significant results. Especially in income-producing activities. It’s a highly productive way to go about getting things done.
I always recommend working toward your own leadership style and how you work best.
Maybe that’s adopting power half hours or power quarter hours, where you’re spending 30 or even 15 minutes with a focused topic, list, and a specific outcome in mind for the allotted time.
Go ahead and apply themes to your power hour time, your schedule, and the time blocks you’ve dedicated to your business.
How would this look? I’ll take my week as an example. When I set time aside to work on this podcast, for example, I keep my theme for that day all about my podcast. Rather than spend an hour on my podcast, an hour with a client, or a half-hour on a discovery call with a new client, for example, I keep the day, or half the day, dedicated solely to my podcast.
My thoughts, energy, efforts, and focus are streamlined to a theme and to the same topic. I don’t have to waste focus switching gears or feeling pulled in different energy directions.
The benefit of this is number one, more organized with time. When you group time by topics or categories, your thoughts, energy, focus, actions, and decisions are channeled in the same direction.
For you, this may look like half of your dedicated business time on contacting team members and the other half on training or mentoring team members. Your focus for the day is team members.
The next day your business time may be dedicated to clients; existing, new, follow-ups, invitations, but the common denominator is clients.
The next day your business time may be dedicated to company-related topics. The meetings your company has offered for you and anything you need or your company needs to support one another.
