A real estate investment trust (REIT) is a company that owns, operates, or finance income-generating real estate. It is modeled after mutual funds where it pools the capital of numerous investors. Thus, making it possible for individual investors to earn dividends from real estate investments—without having to buy, manage, or finance any properties themselves.
The REIT master Daniel Holmlund joins us in our episode today. Daniel received his degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Davis. He now works at Intel Corporation as a software developer and Intel community manager. He runs the Real Estate Investment club at Intel, which as of June 2020 has over 700 active members. He has invested in a total of 907 apartment units, and in 635 of which, he has been a General Partner.
