HAPPY THURSDAY! As you are listening to this, we are sitting on a beach, toes in the sand, sippin' margs, and getting a tan- BUT before we left we had to give you some super spooky stories to spice up summer time and prepare ourselves for SPOOKY SZN! (against our wills bc you asked for it, we simply just delivered and regret it) Morgan starts us off by covering the NoEnd House... literally wtf.... This has continued to haunt us since the recording, prepared to question everything! Taylar then wraps it up by (unfortunately) covering the case of the Tool Box Killers... why y'all requested this so many times, idk, but I will never forgive you for it! Massive TW for ALL THE THINGS in this case. If you are not in a good place, maybe hold off for a bit, because this is extremely upsetting. Enjoy, regrettably, your introduction to spooky season... with caution of course! We will be back next Thursday with some more creepy crime-filled stories to help you prepare for the weekend AS ALWAYS! Rev. Charles Martin "Marty" Davis was born in Cleveland, TN on Feb. 22, 1962. He graduated from Cleveland High School in '80 and went on to UTC for undergrad, then to UVA for his Masters. Soon after graduating, Marty felt a new calling and decided to go to Seminary at Sewanee for his Masters in Divinity, becoming an Episcopalian Priest. At the time Marty was ordained, he was the youngest in the state at the age of 29 years old and the first openly gay Episcopal Priest in the Chattanooga area. Marty went on to do amazing things for the St. Elmo community in Chattanooga, even played a massive role in the merging of two segregated churches and there is so much more he would have accomplished, if his life wasn't cut short. There are thousands of pieces to this case and theories as to what happened to Marty Davis - circulating churches, people of power, and individuals that live in the area. We are the first to cover Marty's case since 2007, there is very little out there on his murder. But we're going to change that. Marty's case is currently being handled by the Hamilton County DA's Office Cold Case Unit, which is weeks away from being shut down because of the changing of office. Once Marty's case is back in the hands of Chattanooga Police Department, it will likely sit on a dusty shelf for another 25 years without pressing leads being sent in. MARTY DESERVES JUSTICE! Sources: Catholic Alternative.com, Episcopal Church US- Wiki, Apostolic Episcopal Church-ae.church, Thankful Memorial.org, Christian Post Article by Joseph Mattera “11 Ways Pastors are Abused”, Hamilton County Cold Case Unit, Sewanee.edu, Crime Stoppers, The Chattanoogan Article 2004- “Crime Stoppers: 1997 Murder of Priest Marty Davis”, Local 3 News Article 2014- “17 Years Later: Chattanooga Priest’s Murder Still Unsolved”, News 622 Article “DA Steve Bebb and the Cannibal Judge”, WDEF News 12 Chattanooga Cold Case Files Episode(s), The Chattanooga Times 1997 Article by John Bobo- “Teen Questioned in Priest’s Slaying” Bobo and Mary Rehyansky “Mourners Hold a Prayer Vigil for Slain Priest” Ranhyansky Article- “Finders of Davis’ Card Interviewed”, Chattanooga Times Free Press 2008 Article By Ryan Harris- “Autopsy Reveals Violence in slaying…”, Chattanooga Free Press 1997 Article(s) by John Chambliss- “Davis Eulogized As Caring Priest” “Teen’s Home Searched in Priest Case”, Chattanooga Times Free Press 1997 Article(s) by Michele Dula Baum- “Marty Davis: A Priest Sent to Minister” “Changing the Face of Worship”, Chattanooga Times Free Press 1997 Article By Howard Cross- “Marty Davis’s Death Called Call To Action”, Chattanooga Free Press 1997 Article By Lance Coleman “Police Talk To Woman Who Found Slain Priest’s Credit Card” “Police Seek Motive In Slaying of Priest” 1998 Article “City’s Detectives Still Seeking Killers of 5 Brandard Residents”, Chatt.
