Professor David Fasenfest of Wayne State University ([email protected]), discusses his role as the editor of Critical Sociology. Fasenfest describes the widespread changes he has overseen in his years as the editor including but not limited to: a more international readership, the expansion of the editorial board, a broader outreach in social media, a broadening of the substantive scope of the journal's content, and the inclusion of the journal on the Social Sciences Citation Index. He also discusses some of the challenges faced by editors of academic journals in today's era of widespread budget cuts to higher education. Additionally, Fasenfest explains ways in which readers/listeners can get more involved in the journal.
