TW/CW: Extreme neglect of a disabled person

Lacey was 36 and lived at home with her parents. She'd been diagnosed with Autism in the 9th grade and was homeschooled shortly after. All seemed to be well by appearances.  But in 2007, no one saw Lacey outside of her home again. On January 3rd, 2022, first responders arrived to Lacey's house, called by her parents. They found her dead, in a hole in the couch, covered in her own filth. What happened in this tragic case? Join Willow and Lillian as they share Lacey's tragic story.

Nellie Bly did something amazing. In the late 1800's she became a female reporter, practically unheard of, and then basically invented investigative journalism. How? She feigned mental illness to get herself committed to one of the most notorious mental hospitals in New York, Blackwell. There, she spent ten days witnessing horrific abuse, unsanitary conditions and abject cruelty. Thanks to her, the hospital received over a million dollars in donations.

Was she done? NO. Then she went on to travel around the world in 72 Days, earning her fame and fortune and starting the trend of 'girl stunt reporters'. An amazing woman who left behind an amazing legacy and inspired the character of Lana Winters in Asylum AHS.

Marie was dedicated to charitable works for her community, even going so far as to minister to condemned prisoners. Her grave is the second most visited grave in the US!
