Butch lived for his son, Brett. He was a hard working man who owned his own used car dealership. Maybe that's what made him a target. Maybe not. Two men disguised as police officers knocked on his door one night at 10pm, taking Butch and Brett captive. After robbing Butch, they leave him for dead in a shallow grave with his mortally wounded child on top of him.

She survived to get help for herself and her little sister by playing dead and lived to become an advocate for children.

She recovered and decided despite her fear (her assailants weren't yet apprehended), shyness, and pain, she would speak for her Stolen Sisters, missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls and two spirit. They got their mom, dog, and a man named Eugene and went to investigate. What they found scared them half to death!
