The Book of Job - could be turned into a movie but it would be a super depressing movie.

HEADLINE: Your Catholic Week in Review (The Suffering of Job Edition!) by Michael Hichborn 

* Saint Francis Xavier - baptized over 30,000 people. 

* Many people say it was closer to 100,000 people.

* So God permitted the devil to afflict Job with such a terrible disease that his entire body was one massive open wound, from the top of his head to the bottoms of his feet.  Job was so distraught that he sat upon a dunghill where his own wife told him to “curse God and die,” and where three friends of his reproached him incessantly, demanding that he falsely confess to whatever sin had caused his great suffering. 

* There are many ways to read the Book of Job, and such depth to it that one could read it a thousand times and glean some new insight each time.  But let us suppose that the Book of Job could be read where Job stands as a type of the Church in Her trials.

* Consider first the narrative between God and the devil.  The devil is permitted to test Job, but he could not do it without first obtaining God’s permission.  This conversation was echoed in conversation Pope Leo XIII was permitted to overhear, wherein the devil boasted that he could destroy the Church if he had more time and more power.  The devil asked for 75 to 100 years and “more power over those who would give themselves over to me,” and Our Lord granted him both the time and the power.  This was on October 13, 1884, exactly 33 years to the day before the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima.

* The discussion of the HOMOSEXUAL act will shut down each conversation if you describe the sexual act.

* Brother Andre Marie - It seems to me that most of this is a throwback to Medieval Canon Law, wherein clerics -- anyone tonsured and up to Minor and Major Orders  (not only bishops and priests) -- could not AT ALL be tried in civil courts. This, keep in mind, is what led to the martyrdom of Saint Thomas a Becket. He refused to allow his clerics to be tried in civil courts since they were only libel to canonical courts. This is why, for certain crimes, priests were "degraded to the lay state," in a very humiliating and severe ritual -- and "handed over to the civil authorities" as a layman to be tried in civil courts. 

* It appears that what we have now is the worst of both worlds: a dysfunctional canonical system that does not discipline properly, and a refusal to hand over genuine criminal perverts to secular authorities. Clearly, we need to "clean house" and introduce some common sense measures that keep in mind the TRUE common good, which is not served by protective perverts.

* When a Priest is ordained he is then only to be judged by God and His rule of law.

* What has happened is Canon Law was changed and it inserted that above.

* All of this money slushing around is on the backs of our forefathers that were faithful and built these beautiful churches and now these churches are being sold off b/c it is payment for these pedophile Priests.

Is this farmstead stuff new to you?

Curtis was a city slicker, he grew up in the country but he was city in feeling and knowledge.

I grew up on a hobby farm and was in 4-H and we always had chickens, goats, pigs etc

It wasn’t about sustainability but it was always raise a pig, show it then sell it.

We never had to worry about feeding them during the winter.

Even though Curtis didn’t have any experience he went head first and found us a 27 acre farm.

I’m just along for the ride, I help him when I can but it really is all due to my husband.

I couldn’t do any of this w/o him.

He would love to have farming be his FULL-TIME job.

He settled on the grain elevator 2 miles from our house.

He got a CDL so he drives a big grain truck, he hauls grain to the elevator for a lot of farmers.

His goal is to get to fully sustainable farm so he doesn’t have to leave the farm.
