Today Jamie and I dive into the food sensitivity test results, taking a look at the foods that are causing me and my body issues.
I've been working with Jamie for about 7 weeks now and I am already seeing some success. I've lost inches in my mid-section (all bloating from food reactions), there is virtually no pain in my hands and my energy is on the rise.
The food journal has become my best friend, even if I don't always use it. I am learning so much about which foods cause me pain and which foods bring me pleasure.
If you would like to work with Jamie Trevathan or learn more about Jamie and her practice, you can contact Jamie at https://empacthealth.myflodesk.com/quantum

While journaling my food habits I discovered I was doing a bit of negative self talk, and that got me thinking...
Why do we talk negative to ourselves?
And how do we find ways not to talk negatively to ourselves?
Tracy Brady shares a few things throughout our conversation that we can do to help when we find we're in a negative conversation with ourselves.

My daughter and I talk about once a week. And everytime we talk, we say, that would've made a great podcast. So a few weeks ago on a Saturday morning we talked for almost 3 hours and recorded the whole conversation. I'm sharing the first hour of our conversation, and will follow it up with the 2nd part later this month.
Didn't do much editing so you are getting a very raw and real look at how our mother/daughter conversations typically go.
We talk about consistency, trauma, values, being a chameleon, female conditioning, being on the spectrum, ADHD, Trash TV, being a homebody, and wanting to choke someone out for breathing!
Enjoy!

As I walk into 2024 I'm realizing the health issues I learned about in 2023 have continued to decline. I was told my cholesterol was on the rise, my good estrogen was at zero and my bad estrogen was elevated, and I’ve been slowly putting on weight for over a year now.
My lack of action in 2023 leaves me with 2 options; go it alone, which has not worked for me so far. Or phone a friend (who also happens to be a functional nutritionist), and begin the process of working with my doctor and my nutritionist, to get my health back on track.
I'll be sharing each call I have with Jamie Trevathan throughout this process and this conversation is basically my intake call with Jamie.

Did you know that 9 out of 10 people will fail their new year resolutions?
Did you know that the average resolutions last about 3.74 months?
Yes, yes they will! And because failure of resolution setting is so common, there are unofficial dates commemorating resolution failure. I love this!!
We already know we are going to fail, so why not create a day to celebrate our failures.
The first one is called “Ditch New Year Resolutions Day” and it’s on January 17th.
The second one is unofficially called “Quitters Day” and it’s on the 2nd Friday in January. This year it happens to be January 12th and I will be in Kansas City to celebrate with the rest of you quitters. 😉🎉
And then there’s always June 1st, unofficially known as ”New Year Resolution Recommitment Day” where you can recommit to a resolution that didn’t serve you the first time around. Hahaha!
Happy New Year My Friends!

On Christmas day I woke up thinking about my sisters and all that we have been through together.
Which got me thinking about birth order and how that impacts how we show up within the family dynamic and maybe in everyday life.

Coming home to yourself.
2023 has been a big year of change for me, one filled with endings and new beginnings. And it was important for me to come home to myself and re-establish a healthy and loving relationship with myself.
Everything you desire in life is a reflection of your values.
Our dreams and our goals represent the things we care most about.
The things we feel we must have in order to express complete and true fulfillment.
Living in alignment with our values is an ongoing journey.
It requires lots of check-ins with yourself, lots of willingness to survey your life and do the work of letting go of whatever is not in alignment, and reprioritizing what is.

Why is it so challenging to feel like we belong with others, or in a group? Maybe it’s because we aren't in the practice of belonging to ourselves.
So what exactly is belonging?
Belonging is the feeling of security and support when there is a sense of acceptance, inclusion, and identity for a member of a certain group. When an individual can bring their authentic self.
Here’s the cool thing. When we have the courage to be our authentic true self, we begin to communicate to others with clarity, with confidence and with grace.
How do we do it and how do we know when we’ve done it?
It is so important to learn to listen to yourself, to come to know yourself. To be in a relationship with yourself and to be in an ongoing daily practice of tuning in to yourself.
Belonging is not a fixed end with an achievable moment. It's not like we check it off our to-do list and suddenly we belong. The work of belonging is a practice because we return home again and again to the truth of who we are and a check in with who we are becoming.
Belonging to yourself is a practice of deep listening and deep courage.
It’s about honoring yourself, acknowledging yourself and seeing yourself.
After all, you are the one who will journey with you through this entire life. You are the most important person to see you as you.
