As we celebrate pride month, let us never forget this: The first pride was a protest led by drag queens of color against police brutality. Since 1976, only 3 prisoners have been executed by a firing squad. All three of them were put to death in Utah. This is one of their stories. Ronnie Lee Gardner was born into an abusive house and lived a childhood so horrible, it might be hard to believe. This unfit childhood set him on a path of crime and, eventually, murder.

In September 1991, Rick Worthington broke into the Women's Center of Alta View Hospital in Sandy, UT with guns and a plan to blow up the entire building. He was furious that a doctor sterilized his wife even though she requested it. During the ensuing 18-hour hostage situation, he held nurses, newborns, and patients (including a laboring mom) inside the hospital with a pile of dynamite.

In 2007, shoppers at Salt Lake City's Trolley Square Mall were suddenly under attack by a lone gunman. Sulejman Talovic purchased two firearms from a pawn shop and, for reasons still unknown to this day, killed 5 people before getting shot by police. This is the story of the Trolley Square shooting.

White Supremacist/Neo-Nazi/Proud Skinhead Curtis Allgier was sent by the Utah State Prison to get an MRI done at the University Hospital. What prison staff didn't know at the time, was that Curtis would use this doctor's visit as a chance escape, killing a corrections officer in the process. Even though his face is COVERED in hate symbol tattoos, race wasn't the motivating factor in this murder.

After getting hired by Horizon Mental Health to work at the Geriatric Psych Unit at Davis Hospital, Dr. Weitzel's patients began dying at an alarming rate.
