Linda Hazzard was a self proclaimed medical doctor with ABSOLUTELY no official training.  On these basis she created a healing regimen that involved fasting, 12 hour enemas, and pummeling massages.  As patients grew weaker to the point of death, more people came to her sanitarium in the quest for a cure.  Over the course of her "career," the number of people Hazzard killed grew while the number of people Hazzard cured was zero.  

For years she got away with her murderous treatment until one day she was officially found guilty and put in jail.  But the saga didn't stop!  She moved to New Zealand, amassed great wealth and returned to Washington State to continue her ways! 
It finally all came to an end when Hazzard starved herself to death.  A poetic justice for all the pain she inflicted on so many.

We continue on our journey of government deceit with part 2 of covert operations. Today we're talking UAP conspiracies...

In the annals of U.S. history, a series of covert projects and investigations have emerged, aiming to unravel the enigmatic phenomenon of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) and potential extraterrestrial interactions. The shadowy MJ-12, or Majestic 12, purportedly represents an elite group of experts and officials convened to manage UFO evidence and possible alien contacts since 1947. Project Aquarius is shrouded in layers of mystery but is believed to have been dedicated to accumulating knowledge about alien presence on Earth. Not as clandestine but equally intriguing, Project Sign (1947), the Air Force's initial foray into UFO investigation, was followed by Project Grudge (1949-1952), which adopted a more skeptical approach to such sightings. Project Blue Book (1952-1969) succeeded them, becoming the most prominent and comprehensive study, attempting to categorize and evaluate UFO reports scientifically. Intertwined with these is Project Flying Saucer, another effort to understand and document the aerial anomalies. Fast forward to the 21st century, and the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) continued this legacy, exploring unexplained aerial phenomena from a defense and security perspective. Collectively, these endeavors highlight a consistent, decades-long quest to fathom the unknown in our skies.

Today, we introduce you to the first of two parts on US covert operations.  Since we're bringing these to you, they are obviously not covert anymore.  But that doesn't make them any less troubling...

The mid-20th century saw the U.S. intelligence community, especially the CIA, delve deep into covert operations that aimed to explore the boundaries of the human mind and unconventional intelligence-gathering techniques. It began with Project BLUEBIRD in the late 1940s, which focused on discovering means to modify behavior through chemical, biological, and radiological methods. This evolved into Project ARTICHOKE, which sought to fine-tune techniques of hypnosis and drug-induced interrogation. By the 1950s, the more infamous Project MKUltra took center stage, pushing the ethical limits with its numerous sub-projects involving mind control experiments, often using drugs like LSD and without the consent of participants. By the 1970s, the CIA's interests had shifted towards the potential of psychic phenomena, leading to Project SCANATE, which tested the feasibility of remote viewing in intelligence applications. This intrigue continued with Project STARGATE, an extended exploration of psychic abilities and their potential military application, which lasted until the mid-90s but ultimately was shelved due to its perceived lack of operational value. These operations collectively showcase the CIA's extensive and, at times, controversial efforts to harness unconventional methods during the Cold War era.

Although project STARGATE claims to be the last of its kind, can we really be sure of that?

Virgo SZN has arrived!! 

Every year, as the heat of summer begins to wane and the first hints of autumn approach, Virgo season takes center stage in the zodiac cycle. Stretching from approximately August 23rd to September 22nd, this mutable earth sign ushers in a period of introspection, order, and attention to detail.
Virgos, symbolized by the virgin or maiden, are often renowned for their analytical minds, practical nature, and deep-rooted desire to serve and improve. The season itself, much like its namesake sign, is about cultivating purity of intention and action. It's a reminder to refine our daily routines, declutter both our external surroundings and internal thought processes, and to aspire towards better health and efficiency. This season encourages us to reflect upon the minutiae of our daily lives and to understand the profound impact of small, consistent actions.

It's ALMOST SPOOKY SEASON!  And to get us in the mood, Katie is bringing us a few ghost stories about the Manresa Castle!! 

Nestled in the charming town of Port Townsend, Washington, stands the historic Manresa Castle. This 19th-century building has seen various incarnations over the years – a Jesuit training college, a hotel, and a mysterious figure in many ghostly tales.
Whispers of its haunted history permeate local folklore. Guests and staff alike have reported inexplicable occurrences: phantom footsteps, chilling apparitions, and ghostly whispers in the dead of night. Two stories stand out. One recounts a Jesuit priest who allegedly took his own life, his spirit now said to roam the hallways. The other speaks of a woman who, heartbroken from a lost love, threw herself from a window; her ethereal presence lingers, manifesting in sorrowful wails and fleeting shadows.
While some are skeptical, attributing the eerie phenomena to the creaks and groans of an old building, others believe these tales, captivated by the castle's eerie allure. The Manresa Castle stands as a testament to time, history, and the mysteries that some say dwell within its walls.

Katie is BACKK!!!!!  And today's she's bringing up a TRUE CRIME TALE!  It is dark and scary, the ending is outrageous and guess what...? It's all TOTALLY TRUE!

In the heart of Victorian-era England, a chilling crime emerged that captivated the nation. Julia Thomas, a wealthy widow residing in Richmond, was brutally murdered in 1879. The prime suspect was none other than her maid, Kate Webster, who, after killing Julia, gruesomely dismembered the body and disposed of the parts in various locations. Kate's attempt to impersonate Julia and later flee to Ireland failed, leading to her arrest and subsequent trial.  Amidst the media frenzy, she was found guilty and met her fate. The gruesome tale took another twist nearly a century later when, in 2010, a skull was astonishingly discovered beneath a pub once owned by renowned broadcaster David Attenborough.  Surprise, surprise, the skull was Julia Thomas'!  This case was extra special back in the day because it was woman who was the killer.  Something unheard of at the time.  Check it out for all the details!

In July of 1993, James Jordan Sr. was murdered in Lumberton, North Carolina.  Following his death rumors swirled that high famous NBA star son, Michael Jordan, may have had a hand in the murder.
The investigation led to the arrest and conviction of two North Carolina teens, Larry Demery and Daniel Green. 
In this week's episode we discuss the events leading up to the death and the conspiracy surrounding the murder.  We also talk about the botched investigation, the corruption involved, and where the perpetrators are today.
This case has many unanswered questions and today we take a look at some possible answers.

Who Killed Laura Law??  This case is unsolved and continues to be highly debated.  Not necessarily because of the gruesome act that took place or all the suspects involved, but because of what this eventually representative on a grander scale. 

The year was 1940 and civil tensions between unions and the men in the C-Suites were HIGH.  Richard Law, an outspoken union leader in his community had made many enemies with his loud antics and left-winged progressive views.  On January 5th, his wife, Laura was brutally attacked and murdered in their home in Aberdeen, Washington.  

Was this attack because of Dick's actions?  Was it the communists?  Was it the right-winged troublemakers? Was the investigation botched on purpose?  We may never have these lingering questions answered, but one thing is for sure.  Each side of aisle used Laura's death as propaganda to further their agenda on the local and national level.  

This case painted a historical picture of the divide in the United States in the 1940's.  Although unsolved, there is a lot to learn from what unfolded and what will forever be known as the "Who Killed Laura Law?" case.
