Cyndi Ramirez wants you to chill. She's the founder and CEO of Chillhouse, a first-of-its-kind destination for modern self-care, offering facials, infrared therapy, massages, nail and pedicure services alongside a wellness cafe. After being frustrated with the lack of enjoyable and affordable spa options in NYC, she opened her first destination in the Lower East Side in 2017. Chillhouse has quickly become a go-to reprieve for New Yorkers in the midst of the city’s craziness, and has now expanded to a second flagship location in Soho, a clean beauty e-commerce platform, and a wellness publication called The Chill Times. In this episode, Cyndi and I talk about re-defining and democratizing self-care, how she transitioned from nightlife to owning once of the coolest spa empires in NYC, and where she sees hospitality going in the time of coronavirus.
