Picture this… You walk into your favorite store, excited to do some shopping for the new season. But as you enter, you notice the front table has sloppy piles of disheveled jeans, jumbled up sweaters, and what looks like an outfit someone wore yesterday laying right there on the floor. You almost tripped over it! As you move further in, you see that there are mismatched hangers, zero rhyme or reason to the organization of things, and clothes packed onto the racks so tightly, you can barely see what’s there.
This is so stressful, right? It would take you forever to sort through! So you get frustrated, you give up, and you walk out. Because clearly, this store is going downhill and it’s time to start shopping somewhere else.
I think we’ve all had this experience at the mall or another retail store every now and then. But for many of us, this is also what we face everyday when we go to shop… in our own closets.
If you’re not thoughtfully organizing your space, keeping your closet streamlined, or using a system to get ready, you’re probably giving yourself a lot more headaches and stress than necessary. So today, let’s figure out a closet organization solution — and an outfit planning method — so you can get ready quickly and actually enjoy it!

If anyone understands the challenges of having little to no time to shop, it’s me. It’s true! I’m a stylist who very rarely shops for myself. I frequently joke with friends, family, and clients that I’m basically the cobbler who has no shoes. But when you’re short on time and still want to stock your closet with well-curated pieces, it’s no laughing matter.
So in this episode, I’m going to share a few quick and simple tips to help you find what you want even if you have no idea what you’re searching for! Let’s stop using busyness as an excuse and start shopping faster, smarter, and more confidently so you can easily pinpoint the perfect pieces to wear for every activity on your action-packed calendar.

I would love to take a poll — and maybe you can follow up with me by email and weigh in on this! — to find out whether you’re team Spring & Summer Style or team Fall & Winter Fashion? Because often, I find that my clients have an easier time getting dressed in either the warmer or cooler months and the struggle to transition from one to the next can present a lot of challenges.
This is true for our friend, Rachael, who submitted today’s Q&A Thursday question as well. Rachael has a soft, feminine style she loves, but she finds it difficult to incorporate her beloved pastels and girly embellishments when the temperatures require bundling up and the stores start pushing dark, moody hues.
So in today’s episode, I’m going to offer up 3 simple tips to transition your style from an easy breezy summer vibe to the more practical needs that come with the fall and winter seasons. Whether you share Rachael’s love of all things light and frilly or you prefer a different aesthetic, I’m confident these tips will make shopping and styling in the next season and whole lot easier. Let’s dig in and get to work on building a fall and winter wardrobe you absolutely love!

As a busy, working woman – and maybe you’re a mom or a wife to boot! – you have a lot on your plate. You have relationships to juggle, a career to manage, causes to advocate for, and people to take care of. You probably hesitate to invest in yourself or to make time for your hobbies and interests. There are a lot of serious issues going on in your life. Your style isn’t really worthy of your worry or time, is it?
In today’s episode, we’re going to unpack whether it’s superficial to care about your style. I’ve spoken openly about my faith as a Christian in past episodes and so you may decide you want to skip this one if you’re not comfortable with that. No hard feelings at all! But I want to approach this from a Biblical view and I think, whether you’re a believer or not, what I discovered might surprise you. It certainly surprised me! And so if you’ve ever felt guilty for caring about your appearance, this is an episode you don’t want to miss.
