Hype or Tripe is a bit different this time as we discuss a rebrand rather than a beer, with Campervan Brewery from Leith undergoing a respray with their cans and designs.

Brew To Me features a trip to Maidenhead for Dave B to roadtest new players Brazenor's Brews, while Dave D stays closer to home and checks out Warwickshire-based Borderlines Brewing.

It's that time again, it's a new episode of Daftaboutcraft, the craft beer podcast!

In one of our most packed episodes ever, there's not one, not two, but three Daves on the podcast as we chat to Dave Goddard, aka Trapped Under Ice Brewing.

Dave surprised us with an imperial stout in the post and he is looking to get up and running on a larger scale very soon! Join us for an interesting chat with a brewer right at the beginning of his journey!

Brew To Me features some very enjoyable brews from Cold Shelter Brew Co based in Wales and Bad Boy Brewing in Hastings, as both Daves return to the scene of previous Brew To Mes to unearth new gems.

Kohia Nelson is a new hop blend from Freestyle Hops that we tried for the first time on the previous episode. We go in again in Hype Or Tripe to check out the beer made from Hackney Church Brew Co featuring the hop and to see whether we think it's a hit or a miss.

Dave B is unhappy in Tried and Tested but there's some light relief as we run down the top 20 beers out there as selected by We Are Beer.

Last month, Durham Brewery celebrated their 30th birthday and released a special beer to mark the occasion. We were blown away with the barrel aged versions of Imperious that we tried last year, and were delighted to chat to owner and head brewer Elly Bell.

Elly took over the business and brewing operations from her father-in-law Steve Gibbs in 2020, and since then has overseen a huge amount of exciting and innovative beers. Sumerian, the brewery's 30th anniversary beer, is no different. Described as a wheat beer, this 8.4% honey and date concoction is easily one of the most complex and interesting beers we've had on the podcast.

Elly was also one of the most informative and entertaining guests we've had, so we thought it only right to release a bonus episode which details what it's like to run a brewery day-to-day, while coming up with lots of innovative new recipes!

Summer has briefly shown itself recently, and Stewart Brewing took advantage of the warm weather with some special releases that definitely hit the spot! We sample four beers and are led through by the process by Nathan and Sam from the brewery.

Hype or Tripe hones in not a beer, or even a brewery, instead the focus is on the Kohai Nelson hop. It takes centre stage in Floc Brewing's Dipa, Plenty. Is it a hit or a miss? Have a listen to find out!

Dave D heads to his Brew To Me safe place, Wales, and this time shines a light on Alpha Zulu Brewing from Caldicot. For Dave B, it's a trip to the south coast and Brewing Brothers, who have plenty more to offer than just beer!

Sam, one half of the Copper Beech Brewing Company from Worcestershire, joins us as usual for her unique take on being the Brewer's Wife and the trials and tribulations it entails!

Alan from St Botolphs Brewery offers a fascinating insight in what it's like to be brewing on a small scale at a target audience, while Ricky Dolphin from Burwell Brewery provides more classic beers with a modern twist.

Dave D is angry, again, in our Tried and Tested feature , while Dave B talks through a recent holiday to Derbyshire and the beers he sampled.

It's another little milestone for the podcast as we release our 60th episode! We're closing in on four years of Daftaboutcraft but there's no sign of slowing down!

Big beers are the order of the day with our guest, Mike Watch, aka Breakbeat Brewing. Mike unashamedly brews imperial stouts and not much else and when he's as good at it as he is, why do anything different?

Our Brew To Me selections are from a chance encounter in a service station for Dave D with Problem Child Brewing, while Dave B enjoys finding out just how much Brinkburn St Brewery in Newcastle do.

Hype or Tripe is definitely not Chubbles. Instead it's a trip to Yorkshire Heart for a pinot porter and a nelson IPA which earn rave reviews!

Easter has been and gone but we've still got lots of hops for you in the latest episode of Daftaboutcraft, the craft beer podcast!

Our main guest is Alex Bell, who is head brewer for New Wharf Brewing Co. Alex has a raft of experience in the industry, dating back the best part of three decades, and that shines though in a discussion that ranges from fish and chips to witches and everything in between!

Brew To Me has a pair of beers which sound similar and both taste great, with easy-drinking, tasty stouts courtesy of Cod Head Brewing Company from Saltburn-by-the-Sea and Ramsey Island Brewery in Essex.

Dave D has been out and about with his microphone and gets the lowdown from Simon and Gazz, the brains behind the Craft Brew Festival  as they helped brew Hazy Daze, their special beer for their series of festivals this year that kicked off in Manchester the weekend just gone.

It's Easter this week, and we have something better to offer than chocolate, the latest episode of Daftaboutcraft, the craft beer podcast!

The two Daves may be left hopping mad later in the year, as they take on Siren Craft's three 'Guess The Hop' beers. The results won't be in for a couple of months, but the taste test was still very enjoyable!

Our guest for this episode is Sean O'Reilly from Brid's Cross Brewing (pronounced Breed's). Sean is a natural-born storyteller, and his beers also tell a story, with origins in myth and folklore. Based in Rochdale, his beers have their history in some traditional styles, but have been given the modern craft beer twist.

Brew To Me features a trip to the Brecon Beacons for Dave B as he samples something a bit different from Sobremesa, while Dave D is Spitting Feathers courtesy of the Wirral-based brewery. Both of these outfits offer so much more than beer, and a perusal of their websites is highly recommended!

We're back with a brand new episode, and also the start of a new era for the podcast! Having hinted at our big news on the previous episode, we're delighted to announce our new partnership with Tap Door.

Tap Door is a craft beer webshop with a difference, as they, like us, love to shine a light on smaller breweries. The beers you hear us talking about on episodes will more often than not be available on Tap Door, and we're looking forward to working with Ollie and the Tap Door team.

This episode is brimming with new beer, some of it so new it's not even labelled! Dave B was told about a brewer in his local area when in the pub, where else, and that brewer is Gareth Francis, of Gruff Brewery in Stratford St Mary, Suffolk.

Gruff is very much at the early stage of development, but the beers are big on flavour, and Gareth tells us all about his plans and the inaugural Gruff Fest set up for the summer. Dave B also nails a mystery hop during the chat, much to Dave D's annoyance!

For Brew To Me, Dave D is feeling the chill. Not literally, instead he is sampling what  Edinburgh-based Cold Town Beer have to offer, while Dave B takes a trip towards the south coast for a stout courtesy of Many Hands Brew Co.

Two beers, one brewery is the setup for Hype or Tripe as we sample the goods from another new brewery, Dark Element Brew Co in Caerphilly. Brewer Tom has wasted no time in generating buzz around his beers which only launched this year, and he is off to a flying start!

It's the Valentine's Day gift you've been hoping for, another episode of Daftaboutcraft, the craft beer podcast!

There's a distinctly Welsh feel to this episode as we feature not one but two breweries based in the land of the dragon. First up are Axeljack Brewery, aka Craig and Ian, who only started their South Wales-based brewery in August 2023, but have wasted no time in releasing quality beer. While Craig looks after the brewing, father-in-law Ian takes care of the business, and the pair place the emphasis squarely on flavour with their beers. Dave D was very impressed by one beer in particular - find out which one and where you can get hold of it.

It's Wales to the fore in Brew To Me, as Dave B samples a beer from Geipel Brewing in Corwen. Brewer Erik has an interesting background, and is dedicated to showcasing lager and its varieties. For Dave D, it's a trip to Skipton and Two Rocks Brewing Co and their Dry Hopped Pale Ale, which belies its modest 2.5% ABV.

For Hype or Tripe, we saddle up and hit the Oregon Trail, and road test some beefed-up versions of Elusive Brewing's most well-known beer, while The Brewer's Wife talks about the perils of social media. To share or not to share?
