Today’s topic? Decluttering, not just your junk drawer, but your mind, your space, and your stress.
Inspired by Marie Kondo’s approach, letting go isn’t about perfection—it’s about permission. Permission to release what no longer serves you and create room for what actually brings you joy.
Science backs it up: clutter increases cortisol, kills focus, and fuels overwhelm. Clearing even one corner of your space can free up a surprising amount of mental energy.
Start small, but start today. Your peace of mind is hiding somewhere under that pile of “just in case” stuff. Follow us on Instagram @Dailyhappysk and start your day in a bright happy way

This episode is extra special because our guest is none other than Michael Wendroff—marketing maestro, former colleague (yes, we survived the high-stakes world of hair care branding together), and now, published author!
Michael’s new book, What Goes Around, is a sharp, witty, and thought-provoking read about the ripple effects of our choices in business and life. Think karma—only smarter and with better dialogue.
We talk about what inspired the book, how Michael approached the writing and the marketing (spoiler: lots of coffee), and why storytelling still matters in a world obsessed with speed and scale.
If you’re looking for a fresh read—or a reminder that what you put out into the world does come back around—this one’s for you.

Lately, I’ve been reading “I Am Maria” by Maria Shriver—a raw, wise, and unexpectedly funny poetry collection that proves resilience doesn’t always come dressed in perfect grammar or polished productivity hacks.
It shows up in short, soulful stanzas about heartbreak, divorce, grief... and the equally terrifying journey of figuring out who you are after all the titles and expectations fall away.
Turns out, vulnerability isn’t a liability—it’s leadership.
Maria doesn’t pretend to have it all together. She gives us permission to be in process—to feel deeply, to make peace with our flaws, and to see emotional honesty as strength, not weakness.
Here are a few things I took away:
-Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is admit you’re still healing.
-Empowerment starts when we stop performing and start showing up.
-A short poem can teach more than a long meeting ever will.
This book reminded me that true leadership includes space for compassion, self-awareness, and yes—sometimes, crying in your car.
If you’re looking for a thoughtful reset (without needing a silent retreat or a dramatic haircut), give it a read.
You might just find strength in the messy middle! Check out our Podcast about Maria's new book on Spotify and follow us on Instagram

Welcome to Daily Happy—your joy-packed pit stop in the emotional demolition derby we call life.
Let’s talk meditation.
Yes, that ancient practice now endorsed by monks, neuroscientists, and your coworker who drinks mushroom coffee and has a Himalayan salt lamp.
Here’s why it matters:
And the best part? You don’t have to sit cross-legged on a mountaintop.
Just five minutes a day of stillness—aka "executive non-reactivity"—can change the game.
Too busy? Try yoga, deep breathing, or simply staring into the void between Zoom meetings. It all counts.
Want the feel-good science with a side of laughs?
Tune in to the latest episode of The Daily Happy Podcast. Your brain (and your coworkers) will thank you. Have a bright and happy day

Let’s talk about the surprising power of Forrest Gump—yes, the 1994 classic with the running, the shrimp, and the box of chocolates.
In a world obsessed with productivity hacks and perfectly curated careers, Forrest Gump is a masterclass in something we rarely talk about: relentless optimism, authenticity, and the occasional spontaneous cross-country jog.
He’s not networking on LinkedIn. He’s not optimizing his personal brand. He’s just being Forrest—curious, kind, and wildly present. And guess what? It works.
So if your calendar looks like a game of Tetris, your inbox is screaming, and your coffee’s gone cold?
Try this:
Because sometimes the best way to run your life… is to just feel like running. Be sure to follow Daily Happy on Spotify and start your day in a bright and happy way!

This happiness boost is something critical to us all: Belonging.
Belonging: It's Not Just for Dogs and Cornhole Teams
Even the most independent go-getters need connection. Belonging isn’t a “nice to have”—it’s hardwired into us, right after food, water, and let’s be honest, strong Wi-Fi.
Whether it’s family, friends, your trivia crew, or your golden retriever—having people (or pets) who "get" you makes life richer, funnier, and more manageable.
Because strong relationships = strong minds = better everything.

Need a mental reset that doesn’t involve a flight to Bali or juggling five wellness apps? Try a dose of comedy.
On today’s episode of The Daily Happy, I shared one of my favorite happiness boosts: Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Yes, it’s a workplace comedy set in a police precinct—but at its core, it’s about teamwork, belonging, and showing up as your authentic (and occasionally very weird) self.
From Amy Santiago’s type-A excellence to Jake Peralta’s chaos-with-heart energy and Captain Holt’s masterclass in deadpan leadership—there are real-life lessons buried in the laughs. Like:
We could all use more humor in our workday—and a reminder that joy is not a distraction, it’s fuel.

Hey there, rockstars! Quick Joy Boost from The Daily Happy. Our son is graduating—yes, we’re officially proud and slightly emotional parents.
And speaking of graduations, Kermit the Frog gave a killer speech at the University of Maryland with this gem:
"Life is better when we leap together."
That’s some solid advice—from a puppet.
And author Brad Meltzer? He told grads to chew gum and be kind. Because kindness never goes out of style, and gum helps you keep it together.
So whether you’re graduating or just surviving Tuesday—leap together, chew gum, and be kind.

Hey you. Yeah, you—scrolling like your thumb’s training for the Olympics.
Let me hit you with a wild idea:
Turn. It. Off.
I know, I know. “But what if I miss something?”
Trust me—if Beyoncé texts you, she’ll try again.
Science says a digital detox lowers stress and anxiety.
Translation: your phone is low-key frying your brain like leftover pizza.
Try turning it off for a whole day.
Or just start by shutting it down at 8pm.
Your cortisol levels will throw you a thank-you party. With snacks.
And bonus? You might actually fall asleep without reading 27 Amazon reviews for hand soap.
So here’s your Daily Happy challenge:
Log off. Breathe. Go outside.
And remember—your phone needs a nap, too.
