The Saudi leadership has denied any knowledge of, or involvement in Khashoggi's killing, although some members of the hit squad had close ties to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Bin Salman is expected to speak today in Riyadh at the Future Investment Initiative, which many big businesses and prominent people boycotted over Khashoggi's disappearance.

Turkey has called for everybody involved in the killing of the Saudi critic to face justice, no matter who and how high they are.

Second migrant caravan forms in Guatemala

Thousands of would-be migrants heading to the US are taking a day off the march today in Mexico.

Meanwhile, in neighboring Guatemala, a second migrant caravan is forming up to begin the long trek north.

Saudi Arabia finally admitted on Saturday to the death of the Riyadh critic, saying its agents were responsible. But it says its leadership wasn't involved.

Turkey continues its investigation of Khashoggi's murder

Turkey, meanwhile, is continuing its investigation into Khashoggi's death.

The search for his body goes on. It was disposed of locally according to Saudi Arabia.

And foreign and local staff at the Saudi mission in Istanbul are testifying to Istanbul's chief prosecutor.

President Erdogan is expected to brief parliament on the case on Tuesday.

Australia's PM apologises for institutional child abuse

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has issued a national apology to victims of childhood sex abuse.

It follows a five-year inquiry which found that tens of thousands of children had suffered abuse at the hands of the state, religious and private institutions, and in cases by prominent persons, over decades.

18 dead in Taiwan train crash

Taiwan is investigating a train crash that killed 18 people on Sunday.

The train ran off its rails as it went around a bend.

It was the island's worst rail accident for 27 years.

Gorbachev slams Trump's treaty threat

And finally,

The last leader of the Soviet Union has slammed a US plan to pull out of a key missile treaty.

Mikhail Gorbachev signed the treaty with then US President Ronald Reagan. It's the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces treaty, or INF.

Trump says he's pulling the US out over Russian violations, a charge Moscow says is a lie.

The Trump administration was initially reluctant to blame ally Saudi Arabia, despite reports that Saudi agents allegedly killed and dismembered Khashoggi inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul more than two weeks ago.

Three top Afghan officials were killed in an attack by the Taliban on a high-level security meeting in Kandahar.

The province's police chief was killed by his own bodyguard who opened fire at the meeting.

The provincial governor and a top intelligence official were also killed.

A US and NATO commander, who was at the meeting, was not hurt.

The attack comes as the country readies itself for parliamentary elections on Saturday.

--> Honduran troops block migrant caravan

Honduran troops have blocked a US-bound migrant caravan from crossing into Guatemala, forcing families with children to trek through the jungle.

The Trump administration is threatening to cut off aid to Central American governments if they don't stop the flow of migrants.

The US intends to deploy its military and to close its border with Mexico.

--> WhatsApp dirty tricks alleged in Brazil presidential race

Allegations of a dirty tricks campaign on WhatsApp is dominating Brazil's presidential election race.

Brazil's leftist candidate Fernando Haddad accused right-wing front-runner Jair Bolsonaro of "illegal" electoral tactics by soliciting mass messages over WhatsApp.

Local media reports that Bolsonaro supporters paid for the mass messaging to spread thousands of spam ads against Haddad.

Bolsonaro responded by calling it "voluntary support".
