We're taking a break from our friends at the Dam to get to the next wild chapter of 2008's New Amsterdam:  the short-lived procedural about an immortal homicide detective searching for his soulmate, all while struggling to fake an American accent. In this episode, a star pupil at a local college is found strangled, and we have some shocking revelations about John Amsterdam's past lover(s). 

Polly is always forced to wear vests on stage, and Emily still loses her mind over Adele Dazeem in the year 2021.

A severely weakend Max is determined to creat his own insurance plan in one afternoon. Then, in the season finale, it's time to finally deliver the baby. 

Emily shares her most specific kink, Polly forgets the name of this hospital, and everything goes off the rails when Skype keeps freezing.

Tensions are high in New Amsterdam as a cop is rushed into the ER. Then, Max has an emotional breakdown, and very publically takes it out on Reynolds. 

Emily speaks in Simlish, and Polly tries fire eating. 

As the blizzard rages on, New Amsterdam's last hope lies with an unlikely hero - a convicted murderer. Then, Max works to hide the hospital's debt, while he and Frome help a patient with a looming custody battle. 

Emily tries to stay on Mrs. Feldman's good side, while Polly accidentally sells her blood on the black market.

As the hospital prepares for a potential visit from the Pope, Max struggles to practice his punning. Then, while the city is hit with one of the worst blizzards in decades, things heat up between Max and Sharpe.

Emily fears spikey fences, while Polly demands more impaling on television. 

Two episodes in one!

Max takes a backseat to some drama at the Dam: Frome confronts Bloom about her addiction, and her future at the hospital. Then, Sharpe's desire to have a baby interferes with her ability to stay objective when caring for a new patient. Meanwhile, Emily doesn't think the 6 train is sexy, and Polly is disappointed to watch yet another episode that doesn't include time travel.  

Max's nausea from chemo is making it hard to keep up with the daily challenges of the Dam, like racism, climate change, and dunking medical bills into garbage cans. But that won't stop him from realizing his greatest plan yet: having his employees impersonate a doctor. 

Polly and Emily finally learn what a grip does, as they are joined by a special guest who has been helping build the new New Amsterdam set.
