In order to instill a sense of dependency and emotional attachment, it entails showering a person with excessive affection, notice, and flattery. 

This tactic can be employed in various contexts, including romantic relationships, friendships, and even cults. 

The goal of a love bomb is to forge a close emotional connection that makes the target more vulnerable to manipulation and control.
