  • Softy and Dick H1 - You forgot how much you can't stand Portland / Mariners GM Jerry Dipoto / OTA first impressions
The Portland Trail Blazers lost to the Warriors last night for the fourth straight game. They're now done, and some people seem upset about it around here. Yes, we're all happy that Portland took care of the Thunder for us, but if the Sonics were still here, you'd be celebrating that our rivals down I-5 had blown it. It's only been eleven years and some of you have forgotten how much you can't stand Portland. Speaking of Oregon, Pro Football Focus put out their Top 25 in college football and the Ducks aren't on it. They're only ranked fifth in the conference. They're getting a lot of love from others though, and we just don't get it. It's been a rough couple of weeks for the Mariners after getting off to a franchise-best 13-2 start. What happened, and what's next? M's GM Jerry Dipoto fils us in. Seahawks OTA's are underway. We got our first look today. We give our first impressions.

  • Softy and Dick H2 - Bobby Wagner speaks on his contract / Jon Wilner on the Pac-12 / Sounders coach Brian Schmetzer / Tuesdays with Tip
Bobby Wagner spoke to the media today at OTA's, and was pretty blunt about what he wants in his next deal. Will the Seahawks give it to him? He's got a pretty good shot based on everything he's done. Larry Scott got a raise? Why? Jon Wilner explains. Textimoinals react to the show at 49451. The Sounders got a draw last weekend in Philly which is pretty impressive under the circumstances. Brian Schmetzer discusses the match, gives us an injury update, and more. Dave Tippett looks at the Western Conference Finals in the NHL, plus, is he heading for the Edmonton Oilers. All that and more on Tuesdays with Tip before we take off a little early for the Bucks and Raptors game.

  • Softy and Dick H1 - Portland Trail Blazers: The PNW's basketball team? / Mariners make a move / Magic Johnson and why it didn't work
The Trail Blazers are down 3 games to 0 against the Warriors with Game 4 in Portland coming up tonight. Softy was hard on the team, and got ripped by Blazers fans for not supporting the PNW's NBA team. Wait, the region's team? The Mariners and Seahawks are the region's teams because the region has never had another NFL or MLB team, but we had the Sonics here for decades. We had a rivalry for years. Even after a decade, it's hard to get over that. The Mariners make a move, trading Anthony Swarzak to the Braves for a pitcher who is out for the year, and another the Braves had DFA'ed. Still though, the team is terrible. They can't beat teams that are over .500, and that's not going to change. They will however keep scoring runs. Magic Johnson spoke about leaving the Lakers on First Take. He admitted that he was "in and out" as a GM while he was focusing on other ventures. He wasn't focused on the GM gig in the way the job deserved. Just another reason we're lucky to have Carroll and Schneider.

  • Softy and Dick H2 - Sawyer Racanelli, committing to Washington / Just announce the starting QB / Can't root for Oregon / Textimonials
Sawyer Racanelli, wide receiver and linebacker out of Hockinson High School in Brush Prairie has verbally committed to UW. He talks with us about his decision to stay in Washington, his versatility, and his connection to Chris Petersen. Okay, we made it through Spring Football without an official announcement being made, but as soon as Fall Practices begin, it'll be time to just announce the starting quarterback for the Dawgs. If it's going to be Eason (and it almost certainly will be) there's no real reason to not announce it. Do we really need to keep it a secret from Eastern? Oregon plays Auburn to open the season, and even though it would benefit the Pac-12 to have Oregon beat an SEC team, Softy still can't root for the Ducks. Textimonials at 49451 react to the first two hours of the show.

  • Softy and Dick H3 - Gerald McCoy released, do we want him? / John Canzano on the Blazers / Sports Pit Cup
The Buccaneers have released defensive tackle Gerald McCoy. Do we want him here in Seattle? The short answer is yes, we could use more depth at that position. Game 4 of the NBA Western Conference Finals is tonight. The Oregonian's John Canzano updates us on Lillard's injury, the Oregonian's "Trash Brothers' headline that's causing a stir, and are the Blazers the Pacific Northwest's team? Calling someone "trash" or "garbage" is way over the line. There's no good reason for a paper to be calling out players like that in a headline, and there's no excuse for publishing quotes ripping players from people who are anonymous. It's just bad journalism. The Sports Pit Cup is your chance to win an Avengers air hockey table. More details at www.sportsradiokjr.com.

  • Softy and Dick H1 - Knick fans upset, why? / Bill Krueger on the Mariners / Play golf like an old man / Warriors and Blazers recap
Nick Kostos is on Twitter, getting upset that the Knicks are only picking third in the NBA Draft, claiming Zion Williamson was stolen from them. Really? The NBA has stolen something from Knicks fans? Our team was literally taken from us. Having the Mariners of basketball is still better than having no basketball at all. Bill Krueger of ROOT Sports joins us to talk some M's. What exactly is ailing this team defensively? Old guys playing golf may not make impressive shots, but they seem to knwo how to win. Maybe we're doing it wrong. The Mariners make a handful of pitching roster moves. We recap last night's Western Conference Finals game. It's hard to see Portland coming back at this point.

  • Softy and Dick H2 - Odds of Warriors losing / Fun with Audio: Booger-Eating Town Hall / Mariners or basketball? / NFL Positional Spending
Softy asks, what are the odds of the Warriors losing this series after going up 2-0 against the Blazers? We're going to start hearing a lot more gambling talk, both with basketball and with all professional sports as sports betting becomes legal across the country. It'll become legal here eventually, even if we're oneo f the last states to change the law. We had an entire discussion yesterday on the air about booger-eating, so Dick went home and asked his kids if they'd admit to it. We play the audio back on Fun with Audio. Textimonials react to the show at 49451. Dick Fain asks if people are more interested in the Mariners vs. Twins series, or the NBA Conference Finals. To people in other cities, this probably sounds like a dumb question, but here, where there is so much NBA hate, it makes sense to ask. Still though, the majority are more interested in the NBA. Do the Seahawks really have less of a chance of winning a Super Bowl because of Russell Wilson's new contract? We look at the teams spending more on their quarterback rooms, and surprise, most of the teams spending the most are considered Super Bowl contenders.

  • Softy and Dick H1 - Go with your first instinct / Second most irreplaceable Seahawk / John Canzano on the Blazers
The Bucks took Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals with Brook Lopez scoring more 3's in the game than he has in his life. How many men are named Brook anyway? Softy says when naming a baby the first person that comes to mind when you think of the name should determine whether the name is appropriate. If the first Taylor you think of is Taylor Swift, than you probably shouldn't name your son Taylor. Dick asks, after Russell Wilson, who is the most irreplaceable player on the Seahawks roster right now? Is it really Ziggy Ansah? John Canzano previews Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals between Portland and Golden State.

  • Softy and Dick H2 - Niner Nate Conundrum / Who will win more games? / Textimonials
The Bay Area is in a great spot right now with both the Sharks and Warriors making their respective conference finals. Every day, Niner Nate seems to have something to celebrate. Normally, we're all for our friends' teams succeeding as long as it doesn't affect our teams, but this has gotten a little old. Should we all support Nate as his basketball and hockey teams continue to crush it, or should we be annoyed at this point? If Seattle had an NBA or NHL team, would it make it easier or harder to deal with this every day? The Hawks and Huskies both have the potential to have decent seasons this year, but who is likely to have more wins? Softy says it's the Huskies, because they've pretty much got nine guarantees on the schedule. Textimonials react to the Niner Nate Conundrum.

  • Softy and Dick H3 - Dwane Casey on the NBA conference finals / Mike Holmgren talks Seahawks / Warriors and Blazers thoughts
The NBA Conference Finals are now underway, with Game 2 in the West happening tonight. Dwane Casey, head coach of the Pistons gives insight into all four remaining teams, plus advice for Zion Williamson, and more. Mike Holmgren joins us for the first time in awhile, talking about Doug Baldwin and how he handled outspoken players, when to use rookies for the first time, rookies vs. veterans, and more. The Blazers and Warriors are about ot get underway. We've got a few final thoughts before the game starts.
