Jack McCauley and Luke Mounger break down their keys on both sides of the ball when looking at Washington's weekend opponent, as well as their level of confidence in a UW win.
Washington Quarterback Michael Penix Jr, Receiver Ja'Lynn Polk, and linebacker Edefuan Ulofoshio give their thoughts as they continue to prepare for Saturday's top-10 matchup at Husky Stadium.
Washington RB Coach Lee Marks, WR Coach JaMarcus Shephard, OL Coach Scott Huff, EDGE Coach Eric Schmidt, and DB Coach Julius Brown spoke to the media this week ahead of UW's game versus No. 8 Oregon this Saturday at Husky Stadium.
New Washington Athletic Director Troy Dannen was officially announced to his post Saturday, but Tuesday was the first time he got a chance to answer questions from the Seattle media.
Dawgman.com's Chris Fetters and Scott Eklund were at the Conibear Shellhouse to watch the press conference with Dannen and UW President Ana Mari Cauce, as well as an informal media gaggle that took place just a few minutes after the formal press conference was over.
In both settings, Dannen looked at ease, confident, and thrilled about being Washington's 16th Athletic Director. Chris and Scott wanted to offer their first-hand thoughts after seeing Dannen speak and what stood out to them the most.
So in part one of the emergency pod, Chris and Scott give their takes on Dannen and how the fit is for both him and Washington, and then after a quick break part two of the podcast is Dannen's informal media session. He spoke for roughly 12-13 minutes on questions ranging from his take on Mike Hopkins to the most pressing NCAA issue in the next three years, and he also professed his love of the Seattle Supersonics growing up.
UW OC Ryan Grubb, co-DC Chuck Morrell, and Head Coach Kalen DeBoer meet the press ahead of Washington's titanic clash with the Ducks this coming weekend at Husky stadium.
The BYE week came at a great time for the Washington Huskies as they rest up and get some of their players back to health before the biggest game ever in the history of the Oregon-Washington rivalry coming up a week from today.
The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, and Scott Eklund - wanted to make sure Washington fans had some pregame listening even when there isn't a Washington game this weekend. And the main reason is that there was still a ton of news to talk about, starting with Thursday's Big Ten Conference schedule release.
The conference announced who each team was going to play - home and away - for the next five seasons, so Washington fans can start prepping for their trip to Happy Valley next season or to Camp Randall in 2025.
With nine Big Ten games for each schedule, that leaves three non-conference games. Will the Apple Cup take one of those spots on a yearly basis? Kim and Chris hash out the options, including playing it as a neutral site game at Lumen Field.
After a quick break, the talk turns to recruiting, and Scott talks a little bit about the recent news that Washington 2024 EDGE target Keona Wilhite de-committed from Arizona this week. He also provides some first-hand analysis of 2024 O'Dea RB target Jason Brown after having seen him play the weekend before.
And you would think the Oregon-Washington game would take up enough oxygen on Montlake this coming week, but we can't forget about the upcoming men's and women's basketball media days in Las Vegas starting Tuesday. So the Dawgman guys will be performing some double duty as hoops starts to heat up.
Well, we're past the halfway point of the season, but it is the BYE week, and eight games have been more than enough time to get a pretty good handle on what Washington Football is all about in 2023, and the early returns have been nothing short of interesting, to say the least. At 5-0, the Huskies are firmly inside the country's top-10 teams with an October 14 battle royale against Oregon next on the schedule. ESPN Game Day is sure to come to Seattle, so get prepared!
But during the bye week, it's a great time to reflect on the first half of the season and think about the players, coaches, and plays that got them to where they are.
The guys at Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds, Chris Fetters, Scott Eklund - were given the task of picking from the below categories, and a couple of sentences justifying their selections.
Top Offensive Player

UW co-DC William Inge, OC Ryan Grubb, and Head Coach Kalen DeBoer spoke to the media as the Huskies go through their BYE week.
Here is everything Washington Head Coach Kalen DeBoer said to the media Saturday night after UW's 31-24 win over the Arizona Wildcats in Tucson. It's the last time Washington and Arizona will likely play each other for a while now that Washington is set to join the Big Ten and Arizona the Big 12 ahead of the 2024 season.
The Dawgman guys hash out their thoughts on Washington's last trip to the desert for the foreseeable future.
