Days of our Lives sees Rachel Black (Alice Halsey) holds a secret that could have severe implications for her cousin, Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman). Rachel's confession to her mother, Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk), hints at a scheme to frame Johnny for the shooting of EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel). Rachel seems to believe EJ deserved his fate due to his involvement in the death of her namesake, Rachel Blake (Roslyn Gentle) on the NBC Peacock soap opera. 

DOOL sees gossip around Salem are buzzing about Ava Vitali's (Tamara Braun) sudden disappearance and the lack of evidence to pin the shooting on either Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) or Kristen. With Johnny's contentious relationship with EJ and his absence from town during the incident, suspicion also falls on him. Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) and Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens), believe Johnny could be the shooter. However, the truth may be closer to Rachel, whose recent erratic behavior hints at guilt. The narrative suggests that Rachel may have shot EJ herself, intending to pin the crime on Johnny.
